Spoil the "code" in Fringe for me

Okay, I give up.

In a recent Fringe thread, someone (sorry, I’m terrible at search!) off-handedly implied that all the opening images in Fringe (six fingered hand, fetus in an apple, etc.) amount to some sort of message or code, an idea that had never occurred to me. I remain utterly mystified.
So, if you would, what is it?

Thanks in advance!

I like apples that have been sprayed so there aren’t any fetuses in them.

Wow, that is so much more complicated than I thought it would be! Thanks, Sage Rat.

Here is a better illustration. Yes there really is a Fringepedia.

That’s so cool. I wonder if all the glyphs will turn up in the show (there was a seahorse in the last show).

Note that there are right and left facing glyphs and the position of the yellow dot changes. For instance, the flower represents 4 different letters.

I’ll point out that it’s the glyphs that appear before each commercial break that spell out things. I don’t think the glyphs from the credits sequence mean anything.

I think the seahorse in the most recent episode is the first time a glyph has had some kind of relevance within the show itself.

Also each episode, one of the ‘watcher’ guys in the black hats appears somewhere in the background, and you have to spot him…

I think tonight’s word was “reveal”. Did anyone else try to figure out the code?

You are correct! The solution is already posted on the Fringepedia link above. Scroll down to the last entry for season 2.
