Already I am loving this episode. I think this one will be one of the better ones.
The Subway scene, Haunting and Excellent all at the same time.
And this is before the Opening Credits.

So what did she do? Shoot him in the legs or something?
So was that Leonard Nimoy’s voice at the end?
Wow, people jumping off of buildings, more of the main plot arc, AND half-naked lesbian kissing?
They better not cancel this show.
“I hope Olivia meant to do that.”
I really like this show. Did anyone notice John Noble’s Australian accent in that public service announcement? He is so good as Walter.
I noticed it was good, when the TV rating had D S L V on it, all four.
I was just glad that Nick fell backwards, and not off the building.
…
Speculation : Do you think that we are seeing the pattern now? I mean the training that Olivia got back in FL. (which we had seen before.)
We noticed an accent, but it didn’t last long enough to identify it.
Can someone remind me which episode earlier in the season had Olivia and the Massive Dynamics woman discussing the shots the kids got? I want to rewatch it because I’m having trouble following childhood the subplot (I thought the implication was that it was given to infants, but that doesn’t seem to gel with the final scene this episode nor Nick’s account), but I can’t recall which one it was.
It was back in the episode AbilitY, the one where Mr. Jones shows back up and we first really learn about the ZFT.
Mr. Jones wants Olivia to use her “abilities” to turn off the lights. He says she was captured and tested in Bound to see if she had been exposed to Cortexiphan as a child. She decides she couldn’t have been since she didn’t live where the test was administrated but learns at then end of the episode from Nina Sharp there was a second test in Florida where she was born.
Another solid episode. I loved the scene where Olivia was in the device that linked her to the ‘killer’ and Astrid, Peter, and Walter each realize in turn that she’s having an orgasm!
I just hope that Fox is able to keep this show going for a couple of seasons, and not turn it into rehashes of stuff we have already seen, or bring characters back from the grave.*
YES, Im looking at you 24 and PrisonBreak.
*Hopefully you understand how I mean this. If we see Patrick Duffy, then we will know something is up.
This week’s secret code was BELLY, wonder what that refers to? We see the observer crossing the camera as Olivia arrives as the suicide jumper building.
Secret code?
Someone figured out that the symbols they show at commercial breaks (the hand, apple and so on) are a code; different symbols and different oriented symbols correspond to various letters. They usually spell out something related to the episode.
BELLY huh? Can’t figure that one out though…
Belly, huh. This episode would have been even better had they incorporated a song by the band Belly in it.
More surprise lesbian kisses on primetime TV, please.
I am on the verge of falling completely in love with this show. Walter is such a delicious character. Oh yes, he’s charming and quirky and cute, but he’s also a brilliant, amoral monster, and they are (so far) happy to have both co-exist in him. I’m just about over Peter arguing just for the sake of arguing, though.
A very small point - Olivia needs to do something with her hair. That parted in the middle and just let it hang there was never attractive, even when it was in style. Her ugly hair is distracting for me. And get rid of the kid.
See here. You can play along at home.
Yeah after BELL I figured it was Bell like William Bell but then they flashed that extra symbol. For what it’s worth, it was a previously unseen symbol that we’re assuming is Y. It could be any of the following: f,j,m,q,x,y,z. Y is the only one that seems to form a word though.
Is the Observer in each ep?
I thought this was probably the best episode of Fringe yet. A truly interesting and unique setup for the mystery of the week, it tied in nicely to the larger plot, and a lot of fun little moments.
Let’s not overlook Walter singing Corner of the Sky from Pippin
Good to know about the Glyphs. I never would have figured that out.
I did read before, that they were “Glyphs” but I didn’t know key. -Or that the key was that simple, 1:1 .
If Walter starts asking for a Red Ryder BB gun, and Ovaltine, Then I will KNOW something is up.
That reminds me.
Has Olivia’s nose always looked like that? With that line down the part that seperates the nostrils?
Dont remember that, at all.
