Spoil the King of Queens finale for me?

I watched this show semi-regularly through its run, but not as much the last few seasons. I only just read last night that the show is over, and that the finale had a surprise ending. Did anyone see it?

I think it was a two-parter; Carrie finally realized her dream of having an apartment in Manhattan, but Doug refused to move with her, so they broke up and she moved there. They got back together, but that short creepy guy (can’t recall his name) that they are both friends with disguised his voice and called Doug and told him that she hadn’t gotten rid of the apartment. He went and saw her there, and then at her father’s wedding Doug broke up with Carrie again, saying he couldn’t forgive her for lying about still having the apartment. Then Carrie started thinking about all the things he had done to her and how she had always forgiven him. Then she boarded a plane to go pick up the baby she was adopting, Doug was on the plane, and they made up on the plane there, and that was the end.
That’s as best as I can recall.

It goes on from there. They find out that just as the adoption is complete, Carrie is pregnant, and she fears the burden of two children will be too much. Doug says to her that they are not canceling the adoption, and that they will go back to Queens and be a happy family with two children. We fade out on this sweet moment…

…and jump to one year later, where they are falling over themselves chasing after two shrieking toddlers, just as Carrie’s dad bursts in the front door, suitcases in tow, announcing, “It didn’t work out!” as he heads for the basement.

Then it ends.

Oh, yeah! I forgot that part, thanks!

I was always glad they never did have kids on that show, though it’s sort of satisfying to know they ended up having a bigger family like they always wanted.

Thanks for the great recap, guys!

Note that the marriage that didn’t work out for Carrie’s dad was to Spence’s mother (played by Anne Meara, Jerry Stiller’s real-life wife). The episode started with him planning to marry a rich lounge singer he’d been managing for the last couple of episodes. She broke it off on the wedding day, because she was marrying Arthur on the assumption that he was gay. So he basically turned to Spence’s mother and married her instead.
