Korea was very impressive. That game was FAR more entertaining than the USA game.
Still, Portugal did not seem to play poorly. Despite having only 9 men, they still nearly scored several times in the last few minutes. Korea barely had enough to hold them off. Thrilling game.
I think it’s because most of the South Korea-Portugal discussion wound up taking place on the US-Poland thread. But yes, it was an amazing game.
I think the turning point, obviously, was when Portugal got the second red card. Up until then, I think both teams would have been ok with playing for the draw, knowing the US’s troubles. But once Korea was up two men, I think they decided scoring one for the home crowd was a good idea. At least, that’s my theory
