I go to 10-15 Mets games a season. I used to go to a couple of Knicks game a season, up to 5 or 6, until they got (a) too expensive, especially with kids, and (b) too bad to pay that much money to watch.
I do make it to 2 or 3 WNBA games (NY Liberty) in the summer, though.
Hockey: I live in Toronto and I hate the Leafs so not very often. If Calgary or Ottawa come to town I usually try to make it to those games, but that’s about it…4 or 5.
Baseball: I’ve been a bosox fan my whole life so I go to most of their games. I also try to hit some Angels games as well. I don’t mind the Jays all that much so I’ll pick up a few tickets when I’m bored every now and again. Maybe 15.
Basketball: I like the Raps and I have six or eight friends with seasons tickets so it isnt tough to come by a good seat. I usually try to catch most of the Western Conference teams as I can’t be bothered to watch anybody else from the east. 5 to 10
Football: I know it makes me a bad Canadian, but I don’t much care for three down football so the CFL is out. So 0 there. Every year or two I do manage to catch a game from either Detroit or Buffalo.
I averaged 15 Tiger games a year for most of my life.
I had Lion season tickets all the way back to Tiger Stadium, then had them in the Silverdome. Then I got sick of it when they stunk for years.
Hockey and basketball have been sold out for many years. I have been to a few games.
I went to the golf tournaments in the area. The seniors in Dearborn and the pros at Grand Blanc.
No soccer here.
I have season tickets for Russell Crowe’s beloved South Sydney at what is now ANZ Stadium and I have scored freebies to a corporate box for tomorrow’s Charity Shield. So 13 games of Rugby League for me, at least. I’ll go to some local matches as well.
Oh, this is a sensitive subject for me because in a perfect world I would like to go more often. I don’t live in the same area as my teams, so seeing them at “home” means that I travel.
Football: usually two games at home, and sometimes one away that ends up being closer to me geographically.
Hockey: about three at home, and about two away when they are in the area where I live.
Baseball: I don’t follow baseball, but usually one because I’m going for work or something like that. I enjoy the whole experience of being at the stadium, so that’s nice.
Tennis: I follow tennis even less than I follow baseball, but I love going to the US Open for one day. It’s like going to a really good party that happens to have a tennis match (or several) being played in the background.
I don’t attend nearly as often as I’d like. Many of the teams in the Dallas area are so far away from the area I live in.
NHL. Probably one a year. With the Mavs and Stars sharing the arena, the scheduling for the Stars makes it hard for me to get to games as often as I’d like to.
NBA. Never. I’ll watch it if it is on, but I’m losing interest in the NBA and their gangsta hip hop attitude
MLB. One or two. The ballpark is just too far for me to make it to weekday games and the Rangers don’t schedule day games during the heat of the summer on weekends. I’d make a lot more Saturday/Sunday day games if there were offered.
MLS. Frisco is just too far. If “FC Dallas” played closer, I’d go often.
Minor League Baseball…Same as above
NFL. Never. NFL is better on the big screen than in person. A lot less expensive too.
Dallas doesn’t have any major colleges. I’d go to more college events if there was a major college nearby. SMU doesn’t count.
The total number of pro sports games I see in a year varies between 0 and three. Last year, sort of unusually, I went to two Sox games, and saw the Revolution (MLS) twice. I’m only ever really inclined to see the Revolution, since the price of their tickets is about a third what it is for any other major sport in Boston. I’ve never once been to a Patriots game, and have seen the Bruins and Celtics only once each in the entire time I’ve been living here.
I should make more of an effort to see minor league hockey, since there are lots of options. I occasionally see a minor league baseball game in Providence or Portland.
I really only do Baseball.
I used to get to one Giant’s game a year, now it is more like 1 per 4 years.
MLB baseball: Last year I only went to 5 which is way down from the 10-15 I usually do.
MiLB: I usually get to 2-4.
This year I only have one game confirmed and it is at Fenway. I will grossly over pay for a few Yankee Tickets this year and I expect that in the end, I will ony go to 4-5 games agains.
