How about footy… Australian Rules Football
It’s highly probable that there’s an Australian movie, but I can’t find any on a quick google.

Tron.
Midget wrestling?
Dwarf tossing?
That’d be a great story line if they ever make CSI: Minneapolis or CSI: Fairbanks.
Caber tossing?

Manhattan is also a good example.
Damn, knew someone would take dwarf tossing before me. It happens in Lord of the Rings.
There’s a local effort, called Australian Rules that was released in 2002. I’d never heard of it until I searched for it. I doubt that it was a major success (except possibly in Melbourne).
(i.e. of a movie in which Racqetball appears).
Woody Allen and Michael Murphy are playing Squash in Manhattan, not Racquetball (well, they’re on a squash court, using squash racquets and a squash ball, but they’re just hitting the ball, not playing a game).
[I had misremembered the scene as being from **Annie Hall** in my post #28 above, but that’s the one in which Woody and Diane Keaton play tennis indoors.]
Was it done as sport in LotR? I honestly don’t recall.
There’s also the Japanese anime-based live-action movie, Ping Pong. Haven’t seen it, but it managed to have an extremely moving trailer, despite the subject.
And for Synchronized Swimming (men’s), there’s Waterboys.
Yes. The dwarf won.
Has anyone done a film on Synchronised Swimming?
Robin Hood disguised himself to enter an archery tournament the (Sherriff, IIRC?) arranged just for him.
I’m sure I’ve seen trap shooting in movies (unless it was skeet), but I don’t recall any where it was a major part of the plot.
Are there any movies on these?

And I know there’s no movie about HPV racing (human-powered vehicle racing, which usually means recumbent bicycles).
Personal Best.
