I don’t have a DVD player or money, so that’s out, but I just discovered Comedy Central’s showing it first thing Sunday mornings! A great show which was doomed the minute I got hooked on it.
CJ
It’s you then.
Now I know the secret - just keep CJ away from the shows I like. I bet you killed Cupid too.
It’s on my christmas list (even though I don’t technically own a DVD player yet. Someday I will. Then, I won’t have to search around maniacally for the DVD’s I want.
Comedy Central shows it weeknights too, though at 3am I think.
Comedy Central shows it, but they butcher it by cutting in commercials at the wrong times and cutting small bits to make room for more ads. If you really like the show, I’d suggest going for the DVD set. I know I will.
God forbid they rearrange their schedule and show Saturday Night Live only four times a day.
Comedy Central also seems to throw the tapes in the air to decide which one to air. I’ve only seen 3 or 4 and the blonde chick’s hairstyle changed everytime. And first she was engaged, then she was getting engaged, then she got dumped! William H. Macy was in the second one I saw. Then he was introduced in the 4th one!
Considering the show is essentially a soap opera-type, this is a tad annoying…
Does anyone have the DVDs? Can you tell me whether that irritating laugh track was left in or removed?
SWEET! Man I need money so I can buy all this crap.
I have the DVDs, Smeghead. The first season laugh track is there, but as the season progresses it fades more and more, which, I understand, is how things went for the first season when the show originally aired. There is no laugh track at all in the second season episodes.
By the way, there are absolutely no extras on these discs. However, there was one thing I thought was neat: in the episode where Jeremy holds the Passover seder, the subtitles show an English translation of the blessing Jeremy recites in Hebrew.
I just saw this at best buy and now I know where my shoe money is going.
