Spring Pictures. Post any spring pictures here.

I have gotten pictures of my main daffodil bed online. Feel free to post pictures of anything spring. Your spring walk, garden prepping, animals that are returning, or the first barbecue.

Hundreds of daffodils in bloom.

I went to Chanticleer, a marvelous public garden, on Saturday. This says spring to me.

It just doesn’t get much more spring feeling for me than catching that first bass of the year.. Warm in the sun, cool in the shade, rain coming and going without warning and frisky fishies. That’s it for me.

These little guys are about ready to fledge: I’m honored to have been able to photograph them. One, two, three. They are great horned owls.

Welcome Spring!

My favorite spring spot was a double row of flowering crabs about a block long at French’s Creek. Last spring I went there to find almost every tree was cut down by the DNR. I’ll never forgive them for that. :frowning: The prettiest early wild flower display I can think of in Wisconsin is the slopes of Wyalusing State Park. From the top to the bottom of the bluffs is solid flowers. Don’t bother going there this spring as a severe rain storm washed out all the trails and some roads last summer. They are still working on the main facilities, and the trails on the step bluffs are still closed.

I was waiting for owl pictures that showed owls an not blobs. Thanks for getting the good pictures.

Enjoy!!

We have a huge Tulip tree in our back yard and the buds are damn near ready to BURST! Can’t wait because that tree is absolutely gorgeous!

Yes, I went back with a different camera and a better mount for the spotting scope. I’m planning on going back at the end of the week to hopefully catch them fledging. They are going to get very … hmmm … odd looking once thier flights come in, and they fly very awkwardly the first time. Sort of parachuting down to the forest floor, then climb back up to a low tree, then do it all again until they can get lift.

I’m going on a hike today to a beaver pond, I’ll bring some pics back if I can see the little guys playing outside their den.

It’s sakura (Japanese cherry blossom) time! (But in Columbus, Ohio, not Japan).

Beavers are super cool animals. As an aside, I was out fishing last year along a local river when I spotted the largest beaver I’ve ever seen in my life. Seriously I’d gage this sucker to have weighed in around 60 pounds. I’d always thought of them as cute little raccoon sized things, but this guy could have done some serious damage. Honestly at first I figured it was a nutria or capybara or something that escaped, but he got out of the water about 200 feet from me and he was assuredly a beaver.

Oh they are very cool indeed! I must admit I do have an ulterior motive for going to this particular pond today. There is some very good fishing right near the lodge and the pond is deep, and opening day was last Saturday! Mostly rainbows and browns in there, but it’s also one of the best smallmouth ponds I know of in this part of the state. So I’ll bring a few spinners and a couple jigs to see what their biting today!

Spring has almost turned into summer, here. It’s supposed to be in the 80’s today.
Anyway, I’ve got spring pics:
Iris.
This cherry tree bloomed a few weeks ago, but it’s all over now.
Same is true for this dogwood, which bloomed last month.

ChiefScott: Ha ha ha. You funny.

Twicks: What are those blue flowers?

You bastard. I have to work all day.

Here’s a couple I took back in Kentucky recently:

You’ve at least got leaves…all the trees in this area are ready to burst but haven’t yet.

Here’s our crabapple tree:

Two

And the redbud.

Is that a skateboard ramp ?? :stuck_out_tongue:

Phlosphr**: Now you see why I want an outdoor clothesline. I could use it just about year-round, here. From March 'til November, anyway.

Yes, but it belongs to the kids next door, not us old farts. :stuck_out_tongue:

Hyacinths.

Oh I’d call up the town council right away - the clerk, and have a petition drawn up. Little effort and you’ll be hanging your clothes outside by Independence Day.
