The Wife and I were watching the telly this evening. After the fifteenth repetition of a new commercial, She (Who Must be Obeyed) wondered if there is a corporate level connection between Sprint telecommunications and Pillsbury Co. (which I believe is part of the General Mills conglomerate).
Does anyone know? An intensive five-minute Googleing did not give me any answers (except that they seem to have the same ad agency).
What led your wife to ask this question? Knowing that may help us figure this thing out.
Anyway, General Mills does own Pillsbury, and according to their website, one of their Board of Directors is the chairman emeritus of Sprint. But it’s common for high-level corporate officers serve on each others’ boards, and that doesn’t mean the companies have any sort of alliances.
Hey…I like those commecials, they’re funny. Anyways, I figured Spint thought it would be funny and asked the Pillsbury people if they could do it. The Pillsbury people figured it’s free advertising for them (well they probably got paid for it) and said OK. But I could be wrong).
