Sqeaky Asian Sex; do other cultures make different noises during coitus?

I have lived in apartments with thin walls in a number of countries and never noticed any squeaking. If you keep hearing squeaks, try using extra lubrication.

As to how realistic porn is, I recall reading many years ago that one film school kept a large stock of vintage porn films for use by set designers. This was because the sets, not being actual sets, provided better approximations of real people’s homes than vintage commercial movie sets.

Yes! That’s honestly the best part, I love seeing people doing it because they care for and trust each other, not just because it’s “hot,” although that has its place for sure. When it’s not overdone.

At 72 years old I have a lot of woman under my belt, If I hear something that sounds like a porn movie it turns me off. The noises I am more familiar with sound pretty guttural and natural, As a man I know the older I get the louder I get because orgasms are much harder to come by and are extremely intense. I have been told I roar like a lion and most of the time pilows are placed over my face.I never have been very good at making women real loud but I figure ifthey come back for more it must at least ok.

I’ve heard of people saying they get self conscious if they don’t get those exaggerated or otherwise loud sounds because they assume that’s the only valid signal of pleasure or “doing it right.” I think in reality it’s more about reading your partner’s responses, there’s more individuality to it than “louder means better.” And yes I think coming back means you’re doing something right.

Bedsprings, you mean, of course… we hope.

You wouldn’t use your car without oil…

I dated an African-American woman who was very much into the Japanese culture scene, played a lot of video games, watches anime, did cosplay and conventions. She also dated a few Japanese men before me. I was surprised when we eventually slept together that she indeed made the Japanese porn noises. I asked her why and she just said she thought that’s what sounds you were suppose to make during sex and the guys she was with before never complained.

If someone in fact speaks in a “little girl voice” with childlike pitches and speech patterns, that can, to an experienced psychologist, indicate sexual abuse or psychological trauma during childhood. There is the occasional woman who simply has a high-pitched voice and sounds like she swallowed a helium balloon, and of course it is possible as an affectation (in which case we should be curious as to why, and linguistic and cultural elements can come into this), but an experienced mental-health professional can pick up on genuine signs of trauma or PTSD in a patient’s voice.

Several years ago, I dated a southern Indiana woman who was surprisingly quiet during sex. I had been happily giving her head for a while, and she pulled me into a different position. She said she had already come six times without making a sound. I said, “If I’d known you were coming, I’d have baked a cake!” That’s from a very old song lyric.

What about when certain women have “dual” voices? I’ve known enough women that basically have a high pitched “girly” voice around strangers but among people they know their voice becomes their “normal” tone.

I can tell you one thing. Many of the working girls I’ve spoken with in the bars in Bangkok’s red-light areas have told me they do make loud squeaky noises for their Japanese customers, saying those guys expect it. In fact, I’ve known Western men who have reported having to ask the ladies to stop, reminding the lasses that they are not Japanese, so they did not need to do that.

EDIT: Did not realize this was a bump. Just saw my similar reply of several years ago upthread.

So, what kinds of noises do zombies make while having sex, or do they have sex?

One of my college classmates lived in family housing with her daughter, and told us about the thin walls she shared with her neighbors, a very sweet newlywed couple from IIRC Taiwan who were both in graduate school. Almost every evening, she’d be laying in bed, and hear them coming into the bedroom giggling, and then the bedsprings would start squeaking, and she’d be squealing, “Oh, Oh, OH!” and much of them time, she would cry afterwards, to which I replied, “This guy’s good!”

In the five plus years the sampling size has not grown, regrettably — from a purely scientific point of view, honey! So I have no further contributions to add. . .

I missed this question five years ago.

Maybe it’s just that the selection process lacked sufficient creativity, but with one rather notable exception*, the other participant did not make squeaking sounds OR pattern sounds from explicit videos. In general, either the selection process or the established procedures tended to result in not a lot of variance which could be attributed to the country of origin but rather the individuality of the person. Boring perhaps for the reader but the process was not entirely unpleasant for the writer.

*Details are left to the imagination.

To a layman like me, it seems suspicious: why would a person be compelled to start talking funny around strangers? But, evidently, some people (namely, actors and entertainers) can do it deliberately, as exemplified by the Seiko Matsuda stuff mentioned above, or https://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/en/8/81/Lake_Bell_demonstrating_sexy_baby_voice_on_NPR.ogg

People do vary their idiolect for whatever reasons; I heard a couple of Alsatians smoothly shift their conversation from French to the local language as soon as they noticed strangers around, just to make sure we wouldn’t think they were merely French, I suppose. If the person can turn it off and on and otherwise has a “normal” voice it does not seem like the phenomenon where there are genuine developmental issues: https://static.wikia.nocookie.net/loveline/images/3/35/Dr_Drew_Little_Girl_Voice.ogg

It seems to me like there is a PhD thesis in exploring the ethnographic differences of vocalizations in pornography, how much it reflects true behaviors, and how much it reflects what producers believe their consumers want, and assuming the latter, why?

Beyond my google skill to find academic treatments already done though!

Caption of the cartoon: what staying power? That’s rigor mortis!

You mean like Theranos conman Elizabeth Holmes affected a deep voice?

I’ve also run into women who do indeed speak in a childlike voice around men and a different more adult voice around women. (Probably it’s mostly going to be women who notice this, because men are a lot less likely to hear the only-around-women voice.)

It’s got nothing to do with whether the men are strangers or not. They’ve probably been taught – consciously or by example – to always sound like they’re being deferential to men, because they think men will take badly to being challenged in any way at all by a woman. And there are men like that, though IME it’s gotten less common over the years.

(This post has nothing in particular to do with having sex. Sorry about that.)
