St. Louis Sunday Dinner recs

Our family is going to be stuck in St. Louis this weekend, and dinner reservations are on me. The hitch is that this Sunday is Easter, so I need a big list of recommendations to go through. Normally I’d just look up a Top 10 list of Italian restaurants on The Hill, but my wife doesn’t like Italian food  !

I’m looking for something slightly upscale, but relatively tolerant of 3 small children. Thanks in advance! (We’re staying on the western side of St. Louis.)

Hmm… I live in the area and have small kids, but we tend to either do “upscale” as a couple or take the kids, not both. Here are some ideas you could consider:

Annie Gunn’s - Steakhouse in Chesterfield
The Tavern Kitchen & Bar - Seafood, steak, etc

These are both definitely on the “upscale” end, but I have seen kids in both (not sure how small…). It could be hard to get a reservation at this point. If you are thinking a bit more casual, I can probably come up with some ideas in that area too - that’s more in our wheelhouse.

If Mexican is your thing, Mission Taco Joint is definitely fun (the one in Kirkwood has an arcade) and kid-friendly.

If you have a specific cuisine in mind let me know, I probably have a recommendation or can get one.

You probably would have had trouble finding an open restaurant on the Hill on Easter Sunday anyway.

A quick glance at some of our favorite places tells me they’re closed too.

This was a very helpful post.

Ha - I found a restaurant open for dinner and got a reservation, now I’m just worried that we’ll run into some timezone-shifted behavioral issues. Oh well - they’re normally well-behaved kids, so it won’t be too bad.

Thanks for the recs.
