Stadium seat cup holders

Hi -

I just saw this pic on a search and it referenced this site - can anybody tell me how to find these? This thread will only allow me to copy/paste the link (not the picture)…

Either I’m not smart enough to actually FIND where to order these OR it’s just NOT “FINDABLE” on the internet…

Welcome to the Straight Dope Message Board, Nancyd1024.

Although your image search brought you here, your question is about where to find the cups, and not about the message board itself. It’s no biggie. I’ll just move this to a more appropriate forum for you.

As for the image itself, the link to it was posted to our site back in 2013. Since the link came from one of our members, the Straight Dope itself has no knowledge about the cups or where to get them. The user who posted it also has not been active here since 2013. Hopefully someone else here can help you find the cups.

Moving thread from ATMB to GQ.

Nancyd1024, it would help to know what, specifically, about that picture you are interested in.

Are you looking for some type of cupholder you can attach to your portable stadium chair? Or to take to stadiums that have seats and temporarily attach?
That picture is labeled “nubs”, and has two small posts sticking up on top. Is that what is of interest to you, and if so, why?
Answering these questions can help us help you better.

The cup in the pic of the OP link is a cup holder from the original Yankee Stadium that was demolished. They were sold as leftover memorabilia on ebay by enterprising folks back in '08.

There are still some for sale on ebay at exorbitant prices: yankee stadium cup holder for sale | eBay

I found a press release from a company that makes souvenir stadium cupholders… from 2006. They apparently still exist, and sell cupholders, but it isn’t clear from their website if they retail them or just wholesale them to stadiums. https://www.sportsmedia.net/products

If you just want a portable beverage holder to take to stadiums, consider this one from OH4 Industries. It is marketed for wheelchairs and walkers, but has been tested at stadiums. All you need is arms on the chair that have room for the Velcro straps to wrap around the armrests.
