"Standard" faeces

When designing new plumbing systems, I’ve heard that engineers test the new system with weights which are supposed to have the same characteristics as faeces. I’ve also heard that the American standard is larger than the European one.

Is it true?

There was an article in the news a couple years ago about a Japanese company whose principal product was a bean curd formulated specifically to mimic the human faeces, in density, texture, shape, etc.

Yes, they made Tofu Turds.

And, of course, they were marketed to toilet manufacturers for testing the flushing capacity of their new designs.

If I recall, I saw it referenced in the newsgroup alt.tasteless, so if you wish to research the cite, be my guest and start there.

Man, mine alone aren’t so consistant that there can be ‘Revtim’ standard, let alone a whole country’s.

Someone out there has a really bad job, in the Tofu Turd testing lab, making sure they are as dense as the real thing.
