Stanley cup question

Sitting at the bar watching the game Saturday, we came to the discussion of how they are able to adding team after team to the Stanley Cup. What happens if they run out of room. A friend of a friend suggested that there add different rings on every year. Is this true?

Searched Yahoo for “stanley cup history” and found this page, which yielded this info:

Hope this helps.

Yep. The real Stanley Cup was gone by the 70’s I believe, and now resides in the Hockey H of fame.

The new cup is treated with much honor, but recently players from the winning team get to take the cup home for a few days each.

Some guys can tell of stories about buckling it up in the plane seat next to them…some guys take it fishing…or to BBQs, weddings, etc. Or having it roll around in the back of their car/truck…

I swear I saw this on the Hockey Hall of Fame website, but I can’t find it again.

There are apparently two versions of every hockey trophy, so that one can constantly be on display at the Hall of Fame. For security reasons, they do not disclose which is which.

Elwood, the site I linked to above might resolve that issue for you.
