Star Trek Discovery Season 2 Thread

My reaction was, “Why don’t they have one of those handles on each side of the door?” I mean, that’s how all the doors in my house work…

It looked like the other side of that door was the turbolift shaft - but still, point taken.

I just saw the finale…man did this thing come off the rails.

Just watched the entire season 2. So the set-up for season 3 is that Discovery and the crew are 950 years in the future, with a spore drive and a time machine? Is that around Year 3200?

If Control was stopped, then we assume that in 3200 the Federation still exists in some form?

The biggest question, is what will Federation uniforms circa 3200 look like?

Different than circa 3195!

So I’ve been in the Philippines for the last 3 weeks on business which has given me the ability to binge watch this show on Netflix.

Dr. Burnham’s default sanctuary in the 32nd century is Terralysium and that’s where the Discovery is supposed to have ended up, right? So it should still be an inhabited planet, albeit preindustrial apparently. This would also imply that; it’s not yet been discovered by the Federation or it’s successor, the Federation dissolved without a successor, or it’s not kind of preserve (i.e. Captain Pike’s interpretation of the Prime Directive held).

That bothered me too; especially since “destroy the physical media” was exactly what they planned to do, it just didn’t occur to them to remove the media from Discovery.

I liked the little detail that since the evacuation of Discovery was planned the crew had the time to take luggage with them.

I don’t know, but I much prefer the TOSlike uniforms the Enterprise crew was wearing to Discovery’s uniforms (which admittedly do call back to Star Trek: ENT). Also if Vulcan still has it’s own Expeditionary Group and Spock was the supposedly the first Vulcan to join Starfleet* how does Starfleet already have a Vulcan admiral? :dubious:

*Well other than T’Pol, who was given a direct commission due to extenuating circumstances. Or was Patar simply a direct commission to admiralty for protocol reasons after holding the equivalent in the VEG?

They have major problems with the writing, which is sad because that’s the least expensive thing for TV shows.

I agree. It’s too bad.

Just something for the Gex-Xers out there:

I started a season three thread:

The previosly on for episode 8 was awesome. Using the original footage from the Cage was very cool.

Season 2 is significantly better than season 1.
