The first three are actually good movies. Four through six are enjoyable while sufficiently inebriated. The only good thing you could say about seven and eight is that they’re not as bad as Star Trek: Insurrection. Insurrection made me bleed from the ears.

There has yet to be a good TNG film. All of them have been uneven crap. If you were to cut out everything from “I’m looking for God” to the fight on the mountain from Star Trek 5, it would rank better than all the TNG films on my list.
Sorry, here’s my revised list (one other minor change):
6, 8, 2,
4, 3,
7, 5,
9, 1
The only ones I really dislike are Insurrection and The Motion Picture, so the ranking doesn’t really give a clear picture of my feelings on the matter.
Undiscovered Country and First Contact are clearly my favorites, very closely followed by Wrath of Khan, but this is so close to a three-way tie that it’s really difficult to tell. Those first three tend to change positions depending on my mood.
Search for Spock and The Voyage Home, I watch as a single movie split into two parts, and I like them pretty close to the same, but not quite as much as the top three. I know that technically, 2, 3, and 4 are the single continuous story, but that’s not how I watch them.
Generations was good, and it handled the transition from old to new very well, IMO, and The Final Frontier was not that bad. It’s cliche ridden and overacted, but to me that makes it better, not worse. That’s specifically what I watch the original Star Trek for, and this one delivers.
Now the big division.
I didn’t like Insurrection or the first movie much at all. I didn’t like decker or ilea, and I still can’t bear the 10 minutes of looking at the Enterprise. Like Generations, The Motion Picture could have made a really good hour-long episode.
The only two I really really liked (that rank on my list of favorite movies, besides being Star Trek) are 6 and 8. The only two I didn’t really like are 4 and 5.
