In my memory, the original Star Trek was aired against the Wild Wild West. This would have been ~68-69 or so. Is my memory playing tricks with me?
Yes, they ran against each other.
The Wild, Wild Wst aired on CBS on Fridays at 7:30-8:30 (ET) in the years 1965-1969, and on Mondays at 10:00-11:00 in the summer of 1970.
Star Trek aired on NBC on Thursdays at 8:30-9:30 (ET) in 1966-1967, Fridays at 8:30-9:30 (ET) in 1967-1968, Fridays at 10:00-11:00 (ET) in 1968-1969, and Tuesdays at 7:30-8:30 (ET) in the summer of 1969.
So, no, the two shows never ran opposite each other in the same time slot.
Crap, here I am at the office, without the reference book needed to break the tie. But in my memory (not a cite, mind you) the two shows never ran in the same period at the same time.
I was living in MO at the time. Central time. Was there a diff in the broadcasts?
Shift all times one hour earlier for Central Time. My source, by the way, is The Complete Directory to Prime Time Network TV Shows 1946—Present, by Tim Brooks and Earle Marsh.
I watched both shows regularly. If they had been running in the same time slot, that would have been impossible (VCRs were still in the future).
Star Trek if they are prepared.
sorry
Oh yeah, I forgot “run against each other” means “same time slot”… that’s what I get for not watching any TV these days.
You young’uns and yer gadgets… why, in MY day…
Nah, Spectre of the Gun, then we can have the best of both worlds
