No matter how far technology goes I’d like to believe setting things on fire will always be effective.
“I’ve lived long enough to see the same eyes in different people. I see your eyes. I know your eyes…”
If taken literally, sounds like she recognizes Rey as perhaps Leia’s kid/of Skywalker blood?
The fan who saw the movie died today.
It’s probably figurative, as I think Rey’s an analog of Luke, stuck on a backwater and longing for adventure.
The recent Red Letter Media Star Wars prediction video was fun. It’s like poetry, it rhymes.
Here’s the official copy: Star Wars: The Force Awakens 60 Second TV Spot (Official) - YouTube
That shot of Han Solo shooting at enemies is awesome.
I’m excited. I shouldn’t be, but I am excited.
Ford makes Solo a fierce old man. ![]()
That bad, huh?
Against guys who parry single-shot raygun blasts, it’s a step forward.
New TV spot:
New scenes include a building being shot at, a ship being blown up, and Kylo Ren deflecting some blaster fire.
I’m trying to remain somewhat spoiler free – deciding that anything official is OK.

Finn - “Hell no!”
Alright, that took me right out of it. That phrase makes no sense in the Star Wars universe. They don’t have any concept of heaven or hell - they have The Force and it’s sides of Light and Dark. It’s like these humanoid aliens from a long time ago in a galaxy far far away are suddenly your neighbors. I know suspension of belief for Star Wars is a HUGE part of the fun but lines like that just ruin things for me when I’m sitting in a theater.
The Millennium Falcon is the ship that made the “Kessel Run” in “less than 12 parsecs.” Not the ship that made it “across the Atlantic in 30 minutes.” Luke wanted to go to “Toshi station to pick up some power converters” not go to “Pep Boys and get an alternator.” :smack:
This is the first time since the trailers started coming out that I’m starting to think this might be a turd. I still have that possibility at about 30% but it’s growing in my mind.
Han says “Then I’ll see you in Hell!” in The Empire Strikes Back…
You’re right and it takes me out of it then too. Empire was a great movie but it still has instances like that. I’m just praying this movie turns out the same. Well that and that JJ doesn’t make Finn start talking like my teenage nephew…
Ok. This makes me feel better:

Maybe Finn - like Han is Corellian!
It doesn’t really bother me in either case, personally. I actually get more annoyed by dialogue that is self-consciously “sci-fi’d”. But I can understand your reaction.
Well, that’s no longer canon. BUT! the point is sound–we don’t know what religious concepts exist beyond the Force.
