Would you be willing to pay money to see George Lucas kicked in the nads? Not that I’m advocating doing this, or actually solicting funds to be able to do it, but suppose someone was raising money to do this, would you donate? Or, if someone did this, and needed money to pay for bail/defense fund, would you contribute? Assume that the video of this would be posted on YouTube at the very least, if not aired by the major news networks.

No, because I think most Lucas hate is the product of nerds trying to one-up each other and somehow prove how much they love the guy’s films by proving how much they hate him. Greedo shooting first was dumb and replacing the Anakin hologram at the end of Jedi with Harley Christenson was disrespectful to the original actor but in the end, whatever . . . they’re his movies.

Spending excessive amounts of time and effort expounding on how much you HATE something is one of the most bizarre manifestations of fanboy-ism I have ever come across.
I’m not really a “fan,” per se.
But, no. I am also not 12.
I’m not even sure how to feel about this. I mean, the guy was on screen, with no lines, for five seconds, and leaving him as he was would’ve created a rather obvious and glaring continuity glitch. There’s no downside-free scenario that I can see.
No. I don’t hate George Lucas, I just hate three of the movies he made. And I only care about those three movies because of how much I love three other movies he made. I figure a childhood of loving Star Wars outweighs six or so hours of being disappointed in a theater as an adult.
I would gladly contribute* to a fund to discourage any new nad-kicking on TV, film, YouTube, wherever. It’s not the height of comedy, it’s not original, and it hasn’t been edgy in at least two or three decades. For those who just can’t get enough testicular pain in their lives, there’s already plenty of it out there for their sadistic viewing pleasure.

That was my reaction too. I was even thinking the same age.
I don’t hate the prequels or the latest Indy. But even if I did, I think I could manage to keep from committing a violent act on their creator. They’re just movies.
These are the two big problems with the retcons. Han is now lovable and scruffy, not dangerous. And Darth Vader returns to the light side of the force and gets his youth restored. And considering how much better Sebastian Shaw did with his crappy dialogue than Hayden, it is doubly insulting. Shit, are we going to replace the Alec Guiness Obi-Wan with Ewan MacGregor through CGI effects now?
A third gripe was dubbing in Ian MacDiarmand as the Emperor in The Emperor Strikes Back. It’s not as offensive because it was so short. Does anyone know the name of the actress who fronted for Clive Revill’s voice in that short scene?
