Alright, this may just be me worrying, but that screams “trouble” to me. They must be desperate to get it out before Christmas, but people very often have their shopping all done by that time. That also makes me wonder if it’s not ready for primetime and they’re waiting to the very last minute. Most Christmas games come out mid-late November, by comparison, or early December at the latest.
This comes a day after Blizzard announced D3 won’t come out this year, SWTOR had to release then or they would be in direct competition. Dec 20 is pretty much the latest they could possibly make it.
This is the first MMORPG I’ve seriously thought about doing. Was considering even building a new rig for it since this one meets only the BARE minimum specs. Hope things go well.
I am guessing it was more about them being pressured to get it out before Christmas.
Since they have waited until the last possible minute, that suggests they feel it needs more time so I expect there to be a lot of bugs.
Still already preordered it though 
IIRC, KOTOR II was rushed out the door to make the Christmas sales season…
I’m disappointed there are no lifetime or free to play options. I just can’t justify a monthly fee for a game anymore.

Missteps (see also: Dragon Age II) aside, I’m Bioware’s bitch, but I was hoping with kicking the WoW habit earlier this year, I could stay away from MMORPGs for a while.
Then a few days ago my husband started talking about how SWTOR sounded really interesting… :smack:
I preordered the deluxe digital download on July 24.
I did not receive any emails regarding the start date. 
Guess I didn’t make the “cut”.
I will probably check into this at some point - maybe March or so once the gamma-test phase is over.
I created an account on their site with hopes of getting into the beta so that may be why I got one.
I pre-ordered from “Origin”. I think I had to create an account on their web site…
Anybody have any experience playing a game on minimum specs? Worth it or too frustrating?
