Rather than resurrect an old Stardew Valley thread I thought I’d start a new one for the latest update, 1.6, which was released a month or two ago. There are a few gameplay changes and some new content. Just a warning that there may… no, definitely will… be some spoilers.
Anybody playing?
Now that the spoiler-free opening post is out of the way…
I haven’t played Stardew Valley in a while but fired it up a couple weeks ago and discovered that a major new update had recently been rolled out. So I started a new game rather than continue my old game where I was about halfway through year 3.
In my first spring, there was a day where it rained green rain. Afterwards many trees were covered in moss – if you chopped down a tree, along with wood and sap and maybe a seed, you also got a clump of moss.
I’ve noticed that some things that you used to be able to do with copper tools now require iron tools.
There are some new seeds that you can’t buy at the store – you find them when foraging.
At some point in the first spring or summer, a plane flies over overnight and drops a bunch of Mystery Boxes. These are also generally found when foraging, and are opened by the blacksmith similar to geodes.
I’m just into spring of my second year so far, so I’m sure there will be plenty more stuff I run across as I’m playing.
Oh, I haven’t done it yet but I guess now you can have more than one pet now. Robin will need to build a new pet bowl and then Marnie adopts out the new pet.
