Well, what did you think? I have some issues with it that I won’t put in the opening post. I’m going to assume if you opened the thread, which has “open spoilers” in the title, that you’ve either seen the episode or you don’t mind finding out what happened. So no need to use spoiler boxes.
Ok here was my issue with it: When they were lifting off, why did they go STRAIGHT UP? Couldn’t they have shifted, you know, out of the line of fire on their way up? Yes the beam would have tracked them after the asteroid passed, but it would have taken a few seconds, and that is all they needed to get the shield closed. It just seems like a no-brainer to not be in the line of fire while your shields are down.
So is this goodbye for Dr. Weir? I wouldn’t mind, actually. She always seemed too wishy-washy and not ‘commanding’ enough to be a leader of such a big project.
Nice to see Jewel Staite again, though I didn’t like the way they introduced her character as being so amazingly insecure. It was pathetic. I know they did it to set her up for redemption by stepping up and doing well in an emergency situation, but I think they overdid it and made her seem too weak. But I’ll get over it because, hey, Jewel Staite!
I wonder what will happen with the city? Will they eventually make it to their new planet and just set down there and go on again as before?
This was probably covered in an episode I’ve forgotten, but didn’t Tayla’s people still have a settlement on the land on that planet? And if so, aren’t they now abandoned?
My DVR stopped right after Rodney said they only had 24 hours of energy left…what happened next?
Do you mean after they launched the city into space? If so, then that was pretty much the end. Rodney says how much time they have left, then you see a shot of the city floating in space. “To Be Continued” and fade to black.
I vaguely recall that the Ethosians (is that their name?) evacuated off-planet when the Ancients came back for an episode.
I had also wondered about the Ethosians (?) on the mainland. I don’t remember them being evacuated, but I could have missed that detail. It was ok for a season finale but they need to wrap up some of these uber bad guy plots a bit faster.
Normally, I would say, “Fade to black”, but in this case fade into commercial shilling other SciFi Channel shows.
