A friend of mine is selling this model made for and used in Starship Troopers (1997) on eBay. Here’s what he says about it:
Starship Troopers Memorabilia, Starship Troopers Collectables - Rodger Young Spaceships original “18 inch” maquette (one of 8 created by Sony’s model shop - Thunderstone) from the first / original (1997) Starship Troopers movie (feature film). Buyer pays packing, shipping, and to insure it (will charge $250 flat if within United States). I was (Credited) Production Supervisor then at Sony Pictures Imageworks (1996/1997), who was in charge of greenscreen, motion control, and pyro unit photography. This one, of the 8 of this size, was used as part of a cluster of maquettes in the background of the mo-co greenscreen stage shots. From the very last of the big Sci-Fi space movies to use actual physical spaceship models (so you’re getting a piece of Hollywood history). A Science Fiction collector’s dream! It doesn’t get any more authentic than this movie collectible. Another of these sold for $20,000 in 2011 (plus $4,600 buyers premium = $24,600 or $27,655 in 2018 dollars). You can look-up the icollector.com item # 1042 if you don’t believe cost (<Link deleted>). These small ships, used in filming, were on a black base (so the one auctioned in 2011 either had its wood base changed out, or perhaps was not used on camera, maybe made for one of the studio exec’s). We had the 18"-ers, 9’-ers, and the 18’ Roger Young model that was used for the break apart shot. We always referred to the little guys as the 18" Roger Young (although it actually measures to about 19" in length). It is somewhat dusty, but I don’t think I should attempt to tidy it. Selling it as is / as you see it (a collector/owner, who knows what they are doing, will probably clean it up better than I can). Copy of Screening Report is next to last picture in this listing - showing use of the 8 maquettes (of which mine is one) in production. I’ll include a clean copy (no red lines) of this report to be shipped with the spaceship.
Bids start at $6,000.

Darn. It’s not Dina Meyer.
JB99:
That movie has fans?
We had one on this board once upon a time. Just one.

Promoting something for sale would go in the Marketplace forum… except that that forum is only for things members are selling, not members’ friends. As is, there is no place on this board for this thread.
