Trekers, set mouths to salivate

So a friend and I dropped by Rockefeller Center today and Christies had displayed some of the Trek items that are going up for auction.

Of course, I took pictures.

Here is a hi-res image of my favorite thing on display. It is about 6 feet long.

This was pretty neat, especially when you look close up. You can see detail of the interior halls.
Sweeeeet

The matte paintings! What of the matte paintings!

(TOS backgrounds)

Very cool. Take some pics! :dubious:

I’m surprised to see a Breen ship model as I assumed it was CGI as quite a few ships of that era were. Were there any Warbirds on display? Or Romulan stuff in general? Aside from Kira, who I assume would not be up for auction, that’d be what I’d be most interested in if I had the money to burn.

This display was only a tease. They had three sections. One had mostly Federation stuff from Nemesis and another had mostly the Reman stuff from the same film.

You can get the catalogue from Christies. For $90 you get the catalogue and two passes to the actual showing. There is a collectors catalogue for $500 and they told us it was selling well.
A friend bought the catalogue and he just emailed me that they are ‘selling everything’.

Shouldn’t the thread title be, “Set Credit Cards to Maximum”?

BTW, didja read the fine print on the label here?

It says you can use the console as a flotation device in the event of a water landing.

Thanks for pointing that out! Okuda, Nemecek, and others have said that there are many little inside jokes all over Trek that the public would never see. (Of course, there are also people who say that all of Trek is a joke, but their words are unimportant and we don’t hear them.)

'taint Breen.

That was the mercenary ship from Gambit I/II, and the Miradorn ship from that DS9 ep, and however many other times they used it.

Now all you need is the right home to display them in.

In that article:

And he’s an interior designer–how did he manage that?!? Two million seems cheap.

So it would appear.

Upon comparison, they’re actually not very similar at all except for their asymmetry. Oops.

Umm. And upon looking at it one last time before closing the tab, it looks like the Miradorn ship actually is symmetrical, just not obviously so from that angle. Der.

I think I just peed a little.
Damn those shot up Enterprise pieces look incredible!

Wow.

Nerdgasm.

It is! They didn’t have a complete Enterprise on display but I really want that.

what’s the difference between the $90 catalog and the $500 catalog? better pictures? is there a way to bid on the auctions without spending money before hand?

You can see it all here. It looks like you can bid online without a ticket.

I found a few things I definitely wouldn’t mind having. They would make the most awesome halloween costume ever.

And I would want to hang this from my living room ceiling.

…! After realizing I could actually search by keywords, I’ve found a few other things including the aforementioned Warbird I somehow missed the first time around, a Defiant replica, the Praetor’s robe, a Bajoran mandala that I honestly would love to own, and Tears of the Prophets. I’m not even into Trek much at all anymore and some of these things are making me tingly. Literally.
