Starting QB kicked off of OU Sooners

Rhett Bomar dismissed.

Of course, this is big news in the OKC. But it will soon have national interest, I’m sure. OU was listed in the top 10, 5, or 3 in various different sport shows or magazine polls, and was considered a cinch to win the Big XII this year.

Will this really have a huge effect on OU? Personally, I think the Sooners could do well with any mobile QB under center. Their D and their running game is powerful this year (projected), and Stoops has new offensive people coming over this year.

What may really hurt, tho, is if the NCAA puts sanctions on the sports program. OU already had a problem in basketball, and now the Bomar rules violation comes out and well… Can you say no bowl game?

Personally, I thought this kid, while pretty good, was going to end up being a discipline problem one way or another. He has a big mouth, a totally stuck up attitude, and has already been in trouble withthe law for underage drinking. Even with all that, tho, I think the real problem is with the guy at the auto dealership who gave him the funny money. I’ve met this guy. He’s an asshole, plain and simple. And a completely obsessed OU fan. So obsessed that he might just have helped ruin OU’s atheletic program for the near future.

**No sniping about any schools or conferences in this thread, please. Just comment on the story or NCAA rules violations in general. **

It sounds like the coach did the right thing and hopefully the other athletes won’t be punished for what these two did.
