Not really. He’s got such a screwy way of making his point (and viewing the points of others) it easily gets distorted. Here’s the basic summary:

SA: 1950’s were such a better time people were politer, the world was cleaner, and everything was so much better. Too bad liberal policies of the last 60 years has messed everything up.

Everyone Else: What are you talking about? They had a whole host of problems back then. Racism for example.

Back then gangs had style. The dance numbers alone were better than anything you get today. And when they disrespected the police, they always had a catchy tune to go along with it.

I have to admit .I have always fely a bit offended by the glamorization of the teen gangs. It was far from glamorous and more than a bit dangerous.
I remember a kid getting stabbed at a teen dance. it was very unusual. They generally just beat the crap out of each other.
The police actually stayed on the outside during gang fights. They had little interest in getting involved in kids beating each other up. Perhaps it was the paper work.

So yes, had I been a black man or a woman in the 50s, I might feel that things are better now. But when I look at how little they seemed to feel put upon in the pre-sixties era, and I look at the criminality, widespread use of drugs, filthy, vulgar misogynistic rap music, rampant STDs, and overall decline of societal civility, I’m hard pressed to think things are better now.

Whenever someone dared to suggest that this was perhaps because blacks were committing disproportionate numbers of crimes (and usually upon other blacks, at that), said someone was excoriated as racist. This attitude took hold and gained traction and, in combination with the never-ending concerns of liberals about the rights of people who prey on them (in this case, overcrowding) led to a revolving door corrections system in which people with dozens if not more criminal violations are walking the streets committing assault, rape and murder while still only in their twenties and early thirties.

Cheered and encouraged sexual promiscuity, which has resulted in heretofore unknown rates of teen pregnancy, STD’s and abortions.

Cheered and encouraged abortions themselves, rather than portraying them as a last, regrettable alternative, and reviling anyone who feels abortion is wrong.
