It wasn’t so much his defense of Paterno. It was the disgusting, explicit lengths he went to do so.
And let’s not forget, he also dismissed the comments from posters who had been molested as children, when they attempted to offer up their own experiences as evidence. (As disturbing as it is to think about) He told them they probably remembered it the wrong way.
AKA, “an eye for an eye.” The exact OPPOSITE of the Golden Rule.
Accept it, Starving Artist. Due to that thread, you will always be known as Cardboard Tube Guy. There’s nothing you can do about it. That’s on YOU, not us. “Do they call me McGregor the Bridge Builder?”
This really is classic Starving Artist. He comes in, defending his original comment, oblivious to the fact that it was in such staggeringly bad taste. There actually was a reasonable point to be made in there somewhere: nonetheless he writes with such atrocious misogynist venom that it doesn’t matter. Bad manners would be a huge improvement.
I can only assume in real life his behavior is much better, how the heck else could he possibly have any friends? That is, assuming his going out for a drink with a friend was with a real and not an imaginary one, and that his friend isn’t just a vile, despicable troglodyte like he is.
Oh, horseshit. Anyone with half a brain and lacking an anti-SA agenda can readily see that I wish for a post-racist country a good deal more than most.
The only kind of people who think I’m racist are the same sort who ridicule the idea of fathers as good role models in the home, the desirability and necessity of good grades in school, cognizance of the necessity to speak and interact pleasantly and professionally in the workplace, and that thug culture is something to fight against rather than defend and promote.
You know, people like Bill Cosby. And Charles Barkley. And most conservatives – who would dearly love to see black people and white people living and interacting with one another as though skin color were no more important than the color of one’s eyes or hair.
But as long as we have morons such as yourself championing the idea that any and every kind of self-defeating, negative and divisive behavior that has taken root in the black community is something to defend and promote rather than discourage, we’ll never get there.
It’s high time people starting confronting racism bullies such as yourself and calling them on their bullshit, and I for one am happy to do my share.
I know you have me on ignore anyway, but Shhhh! If mendo were to discover that he’d been played and had failed to pick up on it even after the fact, it might cause permanent damage to his carefully cultivated opinion of his own intelligence.
Most of the rest of us, of course, picked up on it immediately. I started to post a “well-played” to Shodan following mhendo’s gullible reply but thought it best to let Shodan deal with it as he felt appropriate rather than butting in myself.
But now that it’s out in the open – well played, Shodan.
Again, it’s people like you who are holding black people back. Congratulations, I’m sure you’re proud of your courageous stance in favor of illiteracy, lack of a roll model in the home, and resentment toward rather than integration with white society.
“Integration”! Shirley [thought I might as well beat you to it]…anyway, surely you remember that term. It’s what civil rights activists marched and sometimes died for in the sixties, yes, no?
Wonder what ever happened to the idea, it seemed pretty good at the time.
As an incidental note, an anti-SA agenda is not a necessary precursor to conclude that he’s a jerk and a liar.
If you want such an agenda anyway, I’m sure it’s rather easier to assemble than a Duplo structure.
