STDs from worn panties?

Is it possible to catch a sexually transmitted disease from a pair of panties worn by a woman who had an infection, if I rubbed the panties on my face? If I donated blood afterward would I be at risk of spreading an infection?

IANAMD. If the panties contained any contaminated discharge that contacted your mucous membrane, I think it’s possible. I think it also might depend on the particular STD involved. Skipping the mucous membrane altogether, it seems to this layman that it would certainly be possible to get crabs of the eyebrows. Ee-w-w-w-www. Now Qad’s gonna come along and tell me how wrong I am.

Was she still wearing the panties?

I’m asking the question hypothetically. What if I bought the panties from a web site that mailed them to me? Any fluids on them would have presumably dried after a day or so going through the mail, but of course there would be no way of knowing whether the wearer had a venereal disease or a yeast infection. I’m guessing the bacteria or viruses would probably be dead, but I don’t know how safe an assumption this is.

Throw it in the oven and set it on “Clean”.

Hmmm…herpes, maybe. I can’t recall the stability of the virus outside of the body offhand, but it might be possible to get cold sores, if the girl had genital herpes. Maybe. Just wash the panties before rubbing them all over your face, which seems to be a fairly obvious piece of advice to me.

Which would defeat the point of buying worn panties in the first place.

What about panties that were worn by a zombie?

Reported panties.
