Steam black friday sale - now through 11/26

Stupid question - how do I know I’ve received the DLC for Saints Row 3? I click on Downloadable content on the menu, and it takes me to the steam purchase site…

I forgot to update today’s deals.

But they run for 48 hours now so you have plenty of time still to get them.

War of the Roses $15 50%
Saints Row 3 75% off ($10 game, or $12.50 complete pack)
Farming Simulator 2013 (FUCK YEAH!) $15 50%
Transformers Fall of Cybertron $30 50%
Crysis 2 Maximum Edition $12 70%

Flash

Fear 3 $5 75%
Deadlight $7.50 50%
Trine Franchise 75% (Trine 2.50, Trine 2 3.75, Trine 2 expansion $4) or complete pack $8.75. Highly recommended.
COD Blops $20 (50%)
Carrier Command $25 50%
Dawn of War 2 franchise 50% off - as far as I know it’s mostly only worth buying Retribution for $7.50 if you want it for multiplayer.

Also relevant, Dawnguard for Skyrim is also 50% off at $10.

Is the Trine 2 expansion worth it? I played and enjoyed Trine, bought Trine 2 at some point (although I don’t remember doing so), and was just looking at the expansion.

Amazon has Dungeon Defenders for $2.99 with a $5 voucher toward an Editor’s Choice game in January. The game activates on Steam.

They are PAYING YOU to get this game!

Hey, Borderlands 2 is at 50%!

Thank you, SenorBeef, wherever you are.

Haven’t played it, but I imagine it is - 6 new maps, new abilities that apply back to the original game, plus I always find it easier to send a few bucks to good indie developers than activision or EA or whatever.

Deus Ex: Human Revolution for $4.99. Man, if only I hadn’t already beaten that game like a year ago.

Think I’ll bite on that one. I loved the first one, liked the 2nd one (though the interface sucked, hope they fixed that), and $4.99 for that seems like - well, it’s a great deal for a game that was well-received.

When I was doing a little reading on Skyrim mods, I read that Deus Ex: HR had some as well, including improved graphics. Makes it even more interesting. Think I’ll look into turning off the ‘gold filter’.

Not even going go acknowledge Invisible War? Note that the DLC for Human Revolution is also on sale.

Personally, I don’t mind the gold tones. It was a unique look for the game.

I keep forgetting/being too busy to post new deals when they switch. I’d imagine you guys are smart enough to figure where to look :stuck_out_tongue:

Still, currently

Daily (30 hours left, it’s a 48 hour window now)
Borderlands 2 $30 50%
F1 2012 $25 50%
Deus Ex Human Revolution $5 75% (dlc too)
Chivalry: Medieval Warfare $12.50 50%
Shogun 2 Total War $10 66%
Mark of the Ninja $7.50 50%

Flash
Psychonauts 2.50 75%
Cities XL 2012 $10 75%
Mount and Blade franchise 75%, warband $5
Doom 3 BFG edition $15 50%
Bioshock 1/2 $5 75%
Metro 2033 $5 75%
Okay, so Deus Ex HR totally worth $5, probably buy the missing link dlc too.
Metro 2033 is pretty great if you have a good PC - one of the best looking games of all time and very atmospheric.
M&B Warband is great, don’t buy the original, warband has the same content and is better across the board.
Mark of the Ninja has great reviews, never played it.

Latest Steam flash deals:
Dragon Age Ultimate Edition (DA1 + DLC packs) - $8.99
Quantum Conundrum - $3.74
Lone Survivor (A Game by Jasper Byrne) - $4.99

Torchlight 2 is $9.99 today. I know it’s being ported to the Mac now, but isn’t available yet. If I purchase it today, I should still be able to download it for the Mac when it’s eventually released, yes? Does anyone know for sure?

Yes, if the Mac version is released on Steam*, you’ll gain access to the Mac version as soon as it’s released.

  • Which doesn’t always happen if the port is outsourced due to hairy payment and licensing issues, but I don’t think the Torchlight 2 devs can afford an outsourced port.

Newest flash sales:
Sins of a Solar Empire: Rebellion - $13.59
Blood Bowl: Chaos Edition - $14.99
Mirror’s Edge - $5.99

Awesome, thanks. Worse case scenario, I can boot over to Windows and play it, but I probably won’t really have time to dig into it for a while now anyway, so we’ll see.

Please don’t buy Dishonored from Steam for $30. It was on sale cheaper at GMG and you can actually get it cheaper than that from GamersGate ($21.85) if you don’t mind jumping through some hoops.

Yeah, like I said, it will probably have a Mac version on Steam. There are only a few examples of games having a Mac version not on Steam. Sims 3, for instance, is only available on PC for digital distribution because EA/Maxis outsourced the Mac port. So due to legal agreements, the porting company gets a percentage of sales of the Mac version, but not the PC version. Since Steam disallows companies to sell Mac and PC versions as separate, and EA is reluctant to split the profits on PC copies too, they don’t offer the Mac version from Steam.

This is a pretty rare situation, and like I said, the Torchlight 2 dev probably did the port themselves, I was just putting it there on the off-chance it’s released for Mac and doesn’t show up on Steam making you go “wtf, some internet dude said I’d get it!” I wouldn’t really worry about the “worst case scenario” (which all things considered isn’t that bad if you have a Windows boot you can use).
