Steam Summer Sale 2012 - Deals and News here

The problem with these sales is that I already have the games they have the best deals on!

A second for Terraria at that price; I got it in a sale a while back and without a doubt it’s been by far the best value game I’ve ever got in terms of the cost to time played ratio.

Here’s at least one person who wanted Portal 2 but was waiting for a good deal.

EDGE is worth it alone…that game is pure awesome.
However you always have one bad apple in a pack: The Baconing truly sucks. I mean it sucks like no other game sucks. It’s funny, yeah, but it’s damn hard. Even on normal, you will probably keep dying over and over and over and over…

I looked into “Spec Ops: The Line” after Yahtzee said the story was really good. It isn’t cheap enough for me to buy it yet (maybe it’ll be a daily deal).

But, if someone were to want to buy it, you could but the publisher’s pack for the same price as the game. So, you’ll get the game and a bunch of others, such as Civ V.

Spec Ops: the Line is on Amazon for 50% off through the 14th. I can’t imagine it’ll go cheaper on Steam for how new it is. Activates on Steam.

TellTale’s back to the future is the new flash deal, $6.25 for the next 5.5 hours.

Props for remembering that. Well I played Moraff’s Revenge mostly.

For a second there, one of the games on the bottom right of the “Celebrity Squares” area was replaced by a message: “this game is not available in your region.” Anyone else see that, or know what game it was? It went away when I came back.

For the poll: if none of you guys care which one is next, please vote for Trine 2. The first one was awesome and I just waiting for the second one to be on sale. LIMBO was in the recent Humble Bundle, it was a good deal for those even if I bought Braid for the third time…

It was the indie pack that briefly had the regional blockage message, but it was fixecd quickly.

If Trine 2 does go on sale for 75%, everyone should buy it. I can’t imagine the person who wouldn’t like it.

Is the Back to the Future game worth £4.24, on the ‘flash deals’?

I’ve noticed whenever one flash deal ends, another (new) one takes its place. Really cool.

And I voted for Trine 2 as well, SenorBeef. I loved the first one.

You can get the SR3 pack which has the base game and all the expansions for $24.

I’ll endorse Trine 2. It’s not that much of a refinement; more like another helping of delicious Trine.

I liked Trine, but the replayability was a bit lacking - once you’ve done everything, there’s not really any reason to do everything again.

SR3, on the other hand… I don’t like what they did to SR2 to create SR3, but at 75% off I’m willing to try it out.

Got Saints Row 3 from the Community Choice sale even though I wasn’t sure if I will like it at all - but damn me if it isn’t really fun game. It’s rare I actually laugh out loud when I play games, but this one certainly managed to make me do that. Even driving is enjoyable in it, and I hate driving in real life and in most games.

Not going to buy it but voting for Trine 2 anyways, since Limbo was in a Humble Bundle recently and Magicka’s been on sale a few times.

Only thing I don’t like about Trine (first one) is no matter where you stop in the game, you have to start over at the very beginning of the whole level whenever you start playing again. Or is there something I’m missing here?

What does it say about me that I just got off a long ass day at work, I have another one tomorrow… and I’m still setting my alarm to make sure that I can check Steam in time to grab Trine 2 if it’s a flash deal? I mean, the $3.75 between the current price and the potential 75% flash deal price if it wins is basically nothing, and yet I remain compelled. Whatever Steam is doing, they’re doing it right.

You should go back to the last checkpoint you passed, IIRC.

I actually played about 80% of Trine 2 when I first got it and then got sidetracked for a few months; when I came back to the game I was in the middle of a level and kinda lost. I restarted the level so I could remember where I was.

Won’t give specifics as I’m not sure about user rights, but while I’ve been away from my desktop computer, I gave my brother login information for some of my games (which I figure is only fair, since I won’t be playing them during that time period). In thanks and as an early birthday present, he just put $50 into my Steam account. Woohoo! I’m gonna be coming back to my desktop with a shitload of new games to play.

Nope, doesn’t happen for me. If I get tired of the game (even near the end of a level) and stop, the whole level starts over from the beginning (along with the intro to the level, where the guy is talking and explaining about the area).
