This question can be for anyone who has an opinion on the Steeler uniforms, whether or not you are a Steeler fan.
Steeler fans. Return to 70’s uniform style, keep the new style, or wear something else?
My opinion is that the Steelers are the single most dominant franchise in the Super Bowl era. They were wearing the black and gold uniforms with the block style numbers (in fact, they looked almost exactly like the Packer uniforms look today). They are the NY Yankees of the NFL. Why change the uniform? (I know the answer to this is money, since someone wearing a Bradshaw uniform from the 70’s would not really stand out if they were still wearing that uniform now if the uniforms didn’t change. So the Rooneys permitted Nike to change the uniform slightly, by changing the numbers to the font that is being used on the helmet numbers, and the small Steeler patch on the front of the jersey, on the opposite side of the uniform where the emblem is on the helmet.
I hate the new uniforms, and would love to see them go back to the 70’s look. Your thoughts?

The Steelers were a dominant franchise in the 70s with that style. And now they’re a dominant franchise in the past 10 years with the current style…both have earned a place. I don’t mind the new uniforms. I actually quite like the third jersey, but the 70s unis, the current unis and the thirds right now are all fine. Just don’t go back to the flying wing.
I like the 70s style, but I don’t think the current ones are out of place. I’d keep those if they could just do something better with the numbering on them. It just looks elongated and weird.
That’s my problem with them. The numbers, being on a slant, look very sloppy, especially on the bigger linemen. A number like 71 looks awful.
Maybe if they take the slant off the numbers, it wouldn’t look bad. I’d certainly prefer the non-slanted look to what they have now… but since I haven’t seen those numbers straight up and down, I’ll never know.
Give me back the 70’s look.
And NEVER go to the batman jersey.
