Stephen Baldwin is your typical famous idiot who turned to Jesus as a source of attention and income when his career dried up like Bea Aruthur’s minge. Nothing he says or does should be taken seriously.

I know perception has a way of becoming reality around here, but I don’t know how facilitating the distribution of care packages is a church-state violation. Indeed, it would be one if the DoD refused to distribute these ones solely because the content of them was religious in tone. The group distributing them has First Amendment right that ought to be respected, and the soldiers receiving them have freedom of religion as well.
Now, most soldiers would chuck this right into the round file, but there are some evangelicals in the military (few fundamentalists, though) and perhaps they would welcome this. Who knows.
In any case the military has to balance this against other concerns, as mentioned, and it isn’t as simple as just refusing the packages. Do that and you might have to refuse the ones from Pleasant View United Methodist Church, or even ones sent by a soldier’s family that happen to have a New Testament next to the chocolate chip cookies. Nobody wants that, really.
I’m just happy to have a living legend for a coach. The guy who was leading PSU to victory when I first started loving them at age six (and long before that) is the same guy who’s doing it now. JoePa, I’d do anything for you.

I wonder why people like Baldwin and Kirk Cameron who don’t just get “born-again” but go balls deep into Fundycrotch Gorge invariably never bother to actually fucking study their religion? You never hear of one taking courses at a university in theology or church history, if ever they’re met by someone who does know something about religion it’s clear they’re clueless on the topic, and of course their ignorance is surpassed by their passion in the matter (no just “I find Christianity comforting” but “I was a bound for Hell sinner and now so is everybody but me and other Christians who fit exactly these criteria”).
Though the THREESOME scene was hot, I’ll give him that. And I understand that most of the gay footage twixt him and Josh Charles was deleted- maybe a “special director’s cut” will appear one day.
