Friends,
I'm looking into purchasing a stereo mini-system and was wondering what "dual deck recording" means. What is it good/used for? The one I want to purchase does not have it yet my second and third choices do. All these systems have dual cassettes.

I’m guessing it means you can tape from one deck to the other.
Why you’re looking at tape decks at all is beyond me, though.
My guess is that it means both decks can record. On many of these systems, only one of the decks have a record head. I guess the dual-deck recorders have one on both. The only reason I could think of for this is to record something longer than one tape side. I suppose the system would just start the second recorder when the first one runs out of tape.
