Stereotypical Kid / Teen things you do as an adult?

That totally counts! So far I haven’t designed any custom builds; I’m not very creative (at least, not in that way). People are sometimes impressed by the look of a completed set and will comment on my creativity, and I always say that building a Lego set is just like doing paint-by-numbers only with tiny plastic bricks. I really enjoy the process, though; it’s definitely a kind of therapy.

(Two of my friends run a Lego-related side business: they design small sets, and arrange events at local breweries where people to get together and build that month’s design. I went to one in November, am signed up for another later this month, and am also tentatively planning to go to a March event. Those are the only custom builds I can ever imagine having!)

As an old lady I do lots of things I did as a kid. I lie on the floor a lot (I’m typing this while lying in front of the wood stove), I rode horses then, and I have a horse I ride now. I loved terrariums and aquariums – have a terrarium right now … I took long walks by myself with my dog, still do that. I used to love drawing and while I don’t draw much these days I always have some kind of art project going. Reading fiction. Writing in my journal. I do all those things. I’m basically twelve.

When I see a big display of Apple Jacks at the grocery store I find them hard to resist.

Especially if it’s frozen on the top, and then drained out a little underneath.

But while there are few things as satisfying, stomping on fallen bits of sycamore bark comes close.

Oh, and whenever there’s a choice of walking on an ordinary sidewalk, or on a raised curb next to the sidewalk (enclosing a landscaping bed, say), I’ll choose the curb every time.

Apparently I’m now playing a video game on Steam called Hello Kitty Island Adventure.

And I’m having fun. It’s adjacent to Animal Crossing (which I never played) and Stardew Valley (which I did, copiously.) What’s so great about it is that you don’t have to grind for 10,000 hours because I don’t have time to grind for 10,000 hours, it doesn’t have a sprawling open world I don’t have time to explore, and I don’t have time to play for more than 15-30 minutes at a time – for god’s sake, I am an adult. An adult playing Hello Kitty Island Adventure.

I still love watching Beavis and Butt-Head.

Thought of another example for me, saw the neighborhood teenager on her motorized foot scooter and I thought that looked like fun so I bought one for myself and ride it all the time.

E-scooters are legit means of transportation here for grown-ups. Not for fun, but e. g. for commuting to work.

Me, too! Well, I want to, anyway. I got a Segway Ninebot Max late in the season but only could ride it a half dozen times or so before reluctantly putting it away till the ice & freezing temps are in the virtual rear view mirror.

We see a lot of that here too. Adults, even geezers, riding them for transport. And for fun.

I don’t have one, but I do have an e-bike that fills mostly the same role. If I had a larger residence with a bit more storage space I might well add a e-scooter to my “garage”.

I collect action figures, mostly the things i loved as a child (mainly GI Joe, transformers and star wars) and things i fell in love with as an adult (mcu and anime). Also play video games, but i don’t consider that kid stuff.

Lucky you! I had a horse, that I rode. We worked well together. She came out of a PMU farm, and though she was a crazy cross (we figured she was half-Clydesdale and half-Morgan), I had a lot of fun with her. I don’t know how or why she and I clicked, but we did, and when we did, I knew that she was the horse for me.

The conformation of a Clyde and the spirit of a Morgan—something to behold. And experience that size and spirit in the saddle, as I did.

Sadly, all good things gotta come to an end, and she passed eventually. But I will never forget her, and the fun we had. I am sure that she is waiting for me on this side of Rainbow Bridge. We worked that well together, that I am sure that she will be there, waiting for a carrot or an apple, or both. As she so often got.

My latest project is a minifig-scale Tesla Cybertruck. I started building it with my daughter (Age 8) out of a bag of old grey angular Lego my wife found discarded on the street. After the initial crude version, she got bored but I get a bit more obsessive about making it more accurate (given the limitations of building with Lego). This angles not quite right. This window should be larger and “trans-brown” not “trans-clear”, I don’t have right size / color wheels so I had to order some on Bricklink.com. Of course the shipping is expensive, so I need to buy a bunch more bricks to make it more cost effective.

And I found a license plate tile that says “Luv 2 Rob” from what I assume is a Lego Police set so that would be perfect.

That sounds great – and the license plate is awesome! When it’s done, for added “oomph” you could build Musk/Trump minifigs…
