I saw the late Steve McQueen, in an ad hawking the new Mustang! He looks great…wonder what he’s been doing all those years! I guess he was probably hanging out with Harley Earl-wai, FORD and GM were never buddy-buddy!
Anyway, will this trend (of resurrecting dead celebrities to sell stuff) continue?
Second, McQueen has been dead for 24 years…are the rights to his image still owned by his estate?
Man, I’d like to see some more dead people! Some possible examples:
-Rock Hudson (perhaps promoting healthy lifestyles)
-Henry Ford (the first)
-Howard Hughes (he could shill for TWA)
By the way…the late Guy Lombardo-will he be making a cameo appearance this New Year’s Eve?
TWA is as dead as Hughes is.
I was walking past the TV when that came on. I stopped and stared.
<eerie voice>I see dead people…</eerie voice>
The McQueen - Mustang equation isn’t nearly as bad as the John Wayne - Coors Lite fiasco from a few years ago.
