Steven Seagal doesn't take himself too seriously...

judging by his appearance in this new Aussie beer commercial.

Weird. He’s all bloated (which is nothing new) and… orange. And his hair looks like plastic. And what’s with the “I am a tough guy” schtick? He’s like a walking summation of various parts of New Jersey.

I, also, thought that his hair looked like one of those plastic wigs that kids used to have.

Best wishes,
hh

I know it’s not art but so does he.

And now he’s on the same page with everyone else.

I have no idea what that means.

That’s what I wanted to say.

I thought his entire face looked like plastic.

Actually, he’s not.

There’s no room for anyone else.

That looked like a strange CGI version of a fat guy pretending to be Seagal.

He can’t be that fat now, can he? He just finished shooting 'Steven Seagal: Lawman", and he looks about 100 pounds heavier in that commercial.

Yeah - I saw it on TV the other day for the first time and it took me a good 10 seconds of deep consideration before I finally decided it was Seagal and not some strange parody for beer purposes.

My guess is that they probably only use the best footage of him on Lawman. And even then he doesn’t look too good.

My apologies if Steven Seagal is reading this thread. Dopers are just cruel unthinking bastards. This isn’t what I intended.

For the first few seconds I thought it was a rip off of the Old Navy commercials with the mannequins. I don’t know if it was a joke or if the makeup/art department was really that terrible. BTW, a perfectly clean grill grate makes the grill look cold instead of hot.

I laughed.

Well, it seems that there was a lab, somewhere in New Jersey that was studying steroid rage in Oompa Loompas and several of them escaped. Do a Google image search on ‘guido’ for the photographic evidence.

I think he look equally heavy on the show, actually. Almost heavier, actually, since I think he wears a vest in the show.

Took you 12,500 posts to discover this? Dude, just read the Celebrity Death Pool thread to learn more about us.

Well Seagal is not Italian. He is from Michigan and has nothing to do with New Jersey. The typical Guido stereotype has a Brooklyn accent. I actually have some relatives that fit the mold. They are from Staten Island. As someone who has lived in New Jersey most of my life and who is half Italian I can say that everyone I have met that might fit the guido stereotype does not come from New Jersey. Neither do most of the cast of Jersey shore. Don’t believe reality TV. Oh and Jerseylicious? Its only a few miles from here. That show was cast. Those are not the employees. People around here don’t talk like that. If you did you would be asked when you moved here from Brooklyn.

I’ve never seen any amount of Jersey Shore and not more than 10-15 minutes of any reality show. In fact I have probably watched, not counting hockey or football, 20 minutes of TV in the last three months.

Over all a good strategy but there are some good shows on.
