Stick a fork in her: Clinton's done

Wouldn’t keep him from voting in Chicago :stuck_out_tongue:

Read through all the pages of this thread and can only say now: Thank God. To think of of a personality like HRC taking up the reins left by Bush/Ashcroft/Gonzalez and with echoes of Janet Reno . . . BRRRRR!

I sure hope so, because this really does look like the end of the line for them.

The four Texas polls in the last week have had Hillary up by 2 (CNN), 5 (Survey USA), 1 (WaPo/ABC), and 3 (Rasmussen), from oldest to most recent. The two Ohio polls in the last week have had her up by 9 (Survey USA) and 7 (WaPo/ABC).

With the exception of NH, where voters rallied to her side after assorted men reacted badly to her brief show of emotion, Hillary’s universally failed to improve her lead over, or close her deficit to Obama over the closing days before a primary. If she holds the line, she might win by 3 in Texas and by 8 in Ohio. But barring a genuine surprise, that’s her best-case scenario, and it isn’t good enough.

And it’s not only entirely possible that she’ll lose both, I’d say she’s more likely at this point for her to lose both than win both.

Note sure if this is what you mean by barnstorming, but in Cincy, Obama ads are on the radio and TV pretty constantly. I rarely listen to commercial radio or watch TV, and I’ve still seen/heard about 10 of his ads this week. We also received a phone call with his recorded voice asking us to vote for him. I didn’t realize Ohio had early voting, but Obama’s message encouraged us vote early for him. So, anyway, he’s ramping up his efforts around here. He must have a ginormous amount of cash on hand.

I thought her final statement last night was telling, and so did the rest of the nation. I really hope she takes the high road, and this thing is final on the 5th of march.

I caught parts of the debate last night. Hillary needed a knockout and I think overall she got the worst of it. She actually got boos at one point. She did finish on a high note, but I was wondering if that was a bit of “Well, I didn’t win the debate by knockout, I better give the near concession instead”?

Anyone else watch the debate?

There’s a separate thread on it. Drop on by!

I’m guessing Diogenes is referring to the 10,000+ people rallies and such. He’s been advertising in Ohio but I don’t think he’s had much personal ground presence there.

Thank you, that thread did answer my questions. It looks like I did not exactly make a comment far from what many others observed.

Yeah, that dawned on me after I submitted. Cincy native Kathleen Sebelius was stumping for him here last week, and according to this, he’s planning to sweep through Ohio over the next several days. Cincinnati is tentatively scheduled for Monday, but a place and time has not been set. Given the size of his previous crowds, I might suggest a venue.

Can Obama fill that place?

Probabaly not. I was just kidding about that part.

Barnstorming means touring – the actual personal appearances and rallies, etc. Like Jophiel said. I think his numbers tend to get better when he can campaign in a state in person and he draws huge crowd.

When he was here in the Twin Cities, people were talking about it like it was a Beatles concert, asking how they could get tickets, etc. and a lot of those people were Republicans. There were people on the streets outside the venue just hoping they could see him coming and leaving. It was crazy. There’s an excitement that’s following Obama around right now that I’ve never seen for a politician before.

Tell me about it. You’ve just reached the combined total of both of my marriages!

Congrats!

Gracious Hillary? Mebbe not:

:::sigh:::

I realize Bayard was mostly joking, but the international 7s rugby tourney at PetCo park in San Diego only had (guessing) 20,000 people but had a capacity of 60,000. The tourney didn’t fill the stadium, but if you didn’t look up at the upper decks, it didn’t feel empty, either.

Like I said, the snark will continue until that concession speech. It’s a moot point if Obama slam dunks TX and OH. If he does that seating the FL and MI delegates wouldn’t mean anything. It may not mean anything anyway…She made an initial inroad last night on national TV in the debate. If she continues her BS negative campaigning and rowdy BS, its only going to hurt her more.

He filled to Capasity the XL centrum in Hartford and that was a month ago. He’s consistantly getting 10, 20, 25k turnouts at his venues.

I don’t know enough about the numbers of supporters he has in the area, but he could probably fill the US Bank Arena, a downtown venue that seats about 17000. Hopefully he’ll announce the time and place soon. I’d love to see him.

Softening the ground for a gracious exit (if that is what she was doing) isn’t quitting quite yet.

I’m just getting the impression that there have been two camps of advisors in her camp - the ones saying go negative and the ones saying look gracious and nice. She had decided ahead of time to go with the look gracious for this debate (like in that previous love-fest one) but when prompted so much by a moderator could not resist taking the bite and using some of the lines that had been suggested by the go negative camp. She went back to the decided upon gracious image at the end and played it up a bit higher than maybe she intended.

I’ll wait to see if the next batch of ads are positive only or attack ads before deciding much.
