Wow. Before I could laugh, but that just makes me very angry.
What is the follow up to their non-denial? “If they think this is divisive, they should be ashamed”
…We circulated it to Drudge because we thought it honored our opponent!
…We circulated it to Drudge because it demonstrates Obama’s position on trade!
If they didn’t think it was divisive, what plausible reason is there for them to have sent it out? Let’s hope there’s more to this. Otherwise it portends some nastier days ahead.
He’s wearing what looks like a turban, so he must be a terrorist. Of course, she’s wearing a head scarf… maybe there’s a bomb hidden under it!
Her supporters, as well as those trying to be diplomatic, say how intelligent and bright Hillary Clinton is. Have any of her actions over the last 3 days demonstrated these qualities at all?
What makes her think that any of these tactics will lure people from off the fence over to her side? Honestly.
All it seems to have done is play right into the assessment that she is a shrill bitch. It’s really sad and pathetic.
They could not be making a clearer case for politics as usual. It may be the way to win or avoid losing, and Obama’s camp may also be doing politics-as-usual things, but the Clnton campaign seems to be proudly staking out that as-usual territory.
More strangely, it seems to court the votes of the stupid and backward. It’s an association that I find unpleasant. If I see myself as a decent person, why would I want to sign up with the side that is circulating pictures of their opponent in “terrorist” clothing in order to pick up the uninformed reactionary racist vote?
I was hoping the Clinton campaign would deny their part in this. No such luck, I guess. I am growing more and more happy with my previously conflicted vote for Obama.
I can’t even formulate cohesive sentences after looking at that…That is total BS in the highest degree. That bi…Ahem…person is really pulling all the strings for this. You know what, I hope this comes up tomorrow in the debate. I hope Obama exposes her ilk -not that he needs to. She’s miserable.
Redfury, I read about that an hour or so ago, and I was going to come here and post a link. But I was so angry that I first stopped at Barack Obama’s site and donated some $$ to his campaign.
I’ve never donated to a presidential campaign before in my life. I have voted in every cycle since I was old enough to vote, but never threw my money behind anyone before.
I could have voted for her in the general election, even though I don’t like some of her policies, but the last few days she has disgusted me so much that I cannot vote for her in Nov., should she get the nomination. I can’t vote for McCain, either, so I decided now’s the time to help Obama.
I’m a middle aged white woman, supposedly one of her target demographics, and I am pissed off. I wonder how many more like me she is alienating.
In those other pics, Hillary and Chelsea appear to be performing in a production of The Crucible and GWB appears to be wearing some sort of wizard’s robe but what is that cape that Bill is wearing?
Glad to see some people can figure such things out…
Bill looks like he just won the chariot race over Massala. I sincerely hope Tim Russert shows the picture at the debate and asks her to justify it. Now I’m ready not only to give $ to Obama, but to Hillary’s opponent in the 2012 NY Senate race too.
Okay, so the idea of her giving a quasi-concession speech at last week’s debate seems even more scoff-worthy in light of the turban pic and the overwrought press conferences. I feel like my gut feelings on that count have been vindicated. She is not going to go out without a few last ditch punches. She’s like Michael Myers, yall.
Nah, the bomb is the snuke. I thought everyone knew that.
Considering how many times Oddball on Countdown has had pictures of Bush dressed up in some sort of local garb while on trips over the last few years, I don’t understand how this is supposed to work. Heck, there’s an old Saturday TV Funhouse “Bush Dress-Up” that pokes fun at Bush’s donning of various clothing when speaking to an audience.
And we all know we wouldn’t be seeing that if Clinton was the frontrunner because there is no way she could pull off a look like that.
No doubt Elvis will trot in shortly and set us straight on the issue you raise. After all, he’s intelligent and bright himself…which makes me question twice as much why he’s chosen to die with this slimeball.
What stolichnaya said. I just pray to Og that said demographic group is lastly inconsequential to the ultimate outcome of the Primary. It’d be beyond pathetic for the US it it weren’t.
It’s way past the “assessment” point at this time IMO.
BTW, I just sent money to my son so he can contribute to Obama’s campaign beyond what he already has from his own meager earnings.
Tabithina, I’m right there with you on the outrage even if I miserably fail at being a middle aged woman.
Obama is black with a Kenyan daddy and his name is Barack Hussein Obama. Throw a turban into the mix and there you go.
By in large, lot’s of people are thinking along these lines. In the last 30 minutes I have sent this to a group of people I am campaigning for Barack with, and they mirror these remarks. Non of them thought this would give her campaign anything other than a dirty image. I do not think it will bode well for her at all.
Might as well get used to it. This will be tea and cookies compared to the general. Obama rightly must run the gauntlet of ugliness and stupidity that still exists in this country in order to be its democratically elected leader.
I do not really wish to ask this, but: you think the republicans will do a lot worse?
Great Caesar’s Ghost! Thats so low, I wouldn’t be surprised now if HRC was busy signing a contract with Beelzebub.
To quote/paraphrase the Queen herself, “It is not only wrong, but it is undermining core Democratic principles. Since when do Democrats attack one another [on wearing local garb when visiting foreign dignitaries]?”
Seriously. I expect this from the true opposition. I’m stunned by it when it’s perpetrated by someone within our own party. This is truly despicable.
