I’m putting the question in the Pit, because I don’t know where else it should go. I tried looking in ATMB, but failed to see a relevant post on the subject.

Really, I’m just curious; I’m not trying to Pit anybody. I thought what I saw of his/her contributions was pretty decent, so I’m somewhat surprised to see the “BANNED” next to Demorian’s name.

What exactly happened?

The ctrl-v threads (where your post consists of the contents of your clipboard, revealed using key combination ‘ctrl’ and ‘v’) were a lot of fun in my opinion because of the sheer randomness of what was in people’s clipboards. It also gave an insight into their what they were involved in before posting to the thread.
What with the current sdmb climate of game or post-count threads being off-limits. Do the ctrl-v threads fall under that category? If the answer is yes I won’t argue. I understand the logic behind banning certain things and respect it.

I’m not asking so that I can post one. I have no intention of doing so. I am just curious.

Paul McCartney sat down at the restaurant table and ordered a fruit salad while he waited for his friend, Ringo Starr, to arrive. Idly, he flicked through the newspaper - it was Tuesday’s edition of The Australian. ‘Ahh’, he thought, ‘Tuesday. My favourite day of the week!’. An article in the Technology section grabbed his attention; it compared the product differences between twinkling and non-twinkle lights.

Before he could make up his mind which he preferred, his fruit salad arrived, chock-a-block with strawberries and cherries. ‘Drat’, he thought, ‘Bloody cherries. Perhaps Ringo will eat them for me.’

Just then his mobile phone rang. It was Ringo’s girlfriend, Wednesday Week.

‘There’s been a terrible accident!’, she cried. ‘Ringo is in the hospital - he was stringing up our twinkling Xmas lights and they sparked. He was set on fire!’
‘Horrors!’ cried Paul McCartney. ‘Is he alright?’
‘They think he’ll survive’, sniffled Wednesday, ‘though it was touch and go for a while there. Apparently he nearly drowned!’
‘Wait’, said Paul, confused. ‘I thought he was in a fire?’
‘Yes’, explained Wednesday, ‘but he jumped in the pool to put it out. He’s severely burned, and somewhat waterlogged.’
‘Wow’, said Paul. ‘That would have been a pretty dreadful way to go. I know I’d prefer to drown instead of dying in a fire, but trust Ringo to try and combine the two. That ambitious rascal!’

They laughed together, at that.

‘I’ll be right to the hospital, Wednesday’, Paul said. ‘Is there anything you can think of that Ringo will need?’
‘I’m sure he’d appreciate some cherries, Paul’, she said, after some thought. ‘You know they’re his favourite’.

Scratch that, they’ve made some updates to “legitimize” their phonies. The email address is real and they got rid of the fake AIM and Yahoo Msg stuff. Although they still have my old “Canada, Land of Moose” location (haven’t used that in about a year.)

Originally they had a fake email address that was QUITE similar to my real one as well as bogus messenger IDs.
