Anyone ever seen this before? I recently received tickets to see their show this coming Friday. is it anything like the special that aired on HBO some time ago? How long is the show? Thanks for any info.

Mayor Quimby: “That guy in the suit looks awfully familiar…”
Homer: “I think I saw him in Rent, or Stomp, or Clomp, or some piece of crap.”

I’ve seen it twice in Seattle. So, I obviously liked it. It’s certainly not for everyone; a girl that I know thinks it’s trash, but all of my other friends that have seen it really loved it. I’ve never seen the HBO special so I can’t comment on that. Also, I can’t remember how long the show was; maybe 90 minutes or so.
Saw one of the touring companies a couple years ago, thought it was great. I don’t think a TV broadcast would compare to the live show - the show is about sound and you really need to see it live to catch all the details.

For a REALLY good show, go see blue man group. I got front row seats one time… SO GOOD!
Saw Stomp in NYC a few years ago. It was good, but I enjoyed Blue Man Group a lot more.

I’ve seen the HBO special and caught the show live in Sheffield. The stage show lacks the continuity of the HBO special (not really a big deal), but has a lot more in terms of bam! sound quality…and there’s an audience participation bit, kinda to show off to the folx who sit in the audience thinking, aw, heck, this is nothin’, I could do what they’re doin’.
If you have the chance, go see it. The only show I can recall being better was (were?) the** Kodo Drummers of Japan. ** Both shows were simply incredible.
