I see the wingnut whataboutism is centering on Bill Maher: why is he getting away with saying allegedly similar stuff to that which got Roseanne canned?
I don’t know, and I don’t care. If the wingnuts want to protest things Maher said, they should knock themselves out. If they weren’t upset about him already, but are suddenly up in arms about him now, then why should anybody think they’re serious about any of this, except as a big ‘gotcha’ game?

Besides the fact that he was conscripted to deliver reporting notices to area Jews in 1944 (at the age of 14) and was also instructed by good people to let those people know at the same time that if they did report in, they would be deported to the camps.

I think this is correct. She’s on their top rated show. If it was just one tweet, I think they would have stayed in. The tweet was stupid, but she could have weathered it if it was handled right. I think ABC saw that she was too unstable and probably had reports of other bad behavior.
