Samantha Bee apologized. Is she a decent person now? It is not for me to say, but I would point out that Her speech was also unlikely to get anybody killed. She was actually advocating for mercy in her perverse way. Still, Angela Merkel does not resort to such tactics. Vladimir Putin is widely considered a villain, but he doesn’t go about his villainy in this way either AFAIK.

I didn’t mention god damn because that is indeed covered by the third commandment. If you had stopped there I wouldn’t have mentioned it at all. But a short word for a wonderful act, created by god according to you no doubt, isn’t covered.
I’ll just assume for the moment that your lack of offense does not stem from agreement. But racists in their echo chambers probably think that everyone (except SJW liberals ) do agree with them. Saying you are offended in no one says that they can’t believe what they believe, it just informs them of its affect on others. And if you say nothing, they probably think you agree with them.
As for being responsible for your self alone, the line “am I my brother’s keeper” is not a guideline for behavior. If you are not part of the solution, you are part of the problem.

I would certainly not do it, but then I’m an atheist, so my morals are better than most Christians apparently.
The reason is that racist and sexist terms are directed to people, while scatological terms are not. And unlike insults directed at a single person, racist and sexist terms are intended to oppress whole classes of people.
That’s why I’m offended by terms not directed at my group.
ABC has free speech too, which means they can choose to no longer speak for and with Roseanne. Freedom of speech is for everyone, and that means that your speech, or anyone’s, can have consequences when someone else uses their free speech to criticize yours, or even chooses to stop associating with you.
I’m pretty sure you are already a racist. You just don’t admit it to yourself.
“Dyed in the wool” KKK members are not the only “real racists” in our society. It’s everyone who actively or passively benefits from or fails to take action against our white supremacist system. Indeed, the latter are more dangerous to society as a whole, because they’re the ones who are standing in the way of change. Without them, the KKK extremists would be a much smaller problem.
Perhaps his preacher could be accused of being a child molester? Plaster signs all over the town, billboards, newspaper ads, what-have-you. Get some kids to say “Yeah, that nasty preacher touched me in my no-no spot” People picket outside of the preacher’s house with “Pervert kill yourself” signs.
Sorry, can’t do anything because of free speech! Plus, the preacher shouldn’t even be bothered by what people say about him.
I fully support your opinion. To top it off, being a world renowned comedian, one would expect better “comedy” from Rosanne Barr. In attempting contrition (or deflection?), the best she could come up with as a defense was to cast shade on herself for the one thing she is supposed to “get right”; that is, comedy. I was never a big fan, and I always had a feeling she had this type of behavior in her repertoire.
I’ll take the challenge. You are a racist, because you are using free speech as a euphemism “racist speech should not have consequences.” There is no reason to want racist speech not to have consequences unless you support racism.
You also claim that people shouldn’t care about what they are called. That is defending people using “nigger” and “faggot.” Combine that with the above, and you want to be able to use those words.

“I live in fear of the racists around me, so I don’t speak up” is a vastly different story than the original one this person told of “Eh, doesn’t bother me so I don’t say anything and you shouldn’t either.”
