Stop hijacking threads to comment on the google ads!!

Me two! Er to, rather.

Did you know they make tea bag rests? I guess some people get tired whilst teabaggin’ and a rest is needed.

Lighten up, Francis.

Checks for Netflix ad…

Thanks for the link, I’ll have to check it out when I get home.

And vetbridge, that looks like a godsend for teabaggers like myself. Does it balance easily on the chin?

I’m guilty of it, too. I hadn’t paid much attention to the ads at all, and then I posted in a thread about co-workers making popcorn, and noticed all the ads were for various types of popcorn and popcorn makers, and I commented on it in the thread. It was the first time I had even realized the ads were geared to pick up on keywords in the threads - that’s how much I was able to ignore them.

Uh, yeah, ditto.

As far as I’m concerned, this could be a rule.

Hopefully This Year’s Model is right and it’ll die down, but I suspect that we’ll continue to see annoying content free posts referencing the ads for as long as we have them.

I have only two words to add to this:

Tea.

Bag.

Oh, and who else thinks teadog.com is a cool name for a website?

I was thinking of starting a MPSIMS thread to see if we could make the ads say what we want.
And then I realized how stupid that is and didn’t.

Hey look! An ad for lame rants!

Damn, the only ads I’m seeing are for “Phoenix East” and for “Phat Farm”.

You know what else is going to be a problem with these Google Ads? In Great Debates. I bet everytime there’s a debate over God or religion, Google will most likely favor religion with Church ads and such. That’s going to suck. It’s not like you’re going to see Athiesttrinkets.com, or Darwintoys.com, are you?

I agree, i don’t think commenting about them will ever go away completely. Certainly, it’ll die down. But all it takes is one post to throw a thread off track.

We might, I’ve been surprised at the non-mainstream stuff the google ads have brought up in threads. I imagine “atheism” is a big keyword for Darwin fish. I’m just hoping we don’t get “Does your crotch stink?” ads in the abortion debates! :smack:

Wow, reading this thread sure did make me think about how much I’d enjoy a good cup of tea. I can’t remember the last time I had one. I wonder where I could get some. If only there were some way I could be directed to the right place when I had a sudden inexplicable craving like this!
