On submitting, I see “Asheville NC” under your name. See? Full stops aren’t necessary.
Yeah, I realized that after I hit submit. But I’ve also never heard anyone say “Mexican Food Restaurant.”
That is rather redundant.
Oops, I did mean “Mexican Food Restaurant.”
Apparently, I spilled my “Food”:smack:
“NC” stands alone, as a postal code.
(and it’s just the place for the little brats who didn’t listen in Jr. High, and still refuse to listen)
I know, I know! Did you not see my other, later retracto-oops post?
The one that “gets” me is the use of the non-word irregarkless
The correct format is: amn’t I
He/she has its uses, but that particular example is particularaly off ticking.
“Improper grammer and/or word usage” expands to:
(Improper grammer and word usage) || (Improper grammer) || (Improper word usage). Since it has to have (Improper grammer) or (Improper word usage) to have (Improper grammer and word usage), then it should just be “or”. Unless, of course, only the instances of both (Improper grammer) and (Improper word usage) are truly track stopping, then it should just be “and”.
Think of how long it would take to formulate a conversation and all of the cliches that would be dead if we did this much logical analysis every time we talked.Note the use of the so-called ‘logical’ style of quoting. The use of the standard style annoys me, but I don’t really have the backup to fight it.
Kids! What is wrong with the following ad copy:
“Winston tastes good, like a cigarette should”?
It should have read “Winston tastes good, like a Cigarette Should”.
Hihi

The correct format is: amn’t I
Except that amn’t[/t] means *the drupaceous fruit of a small tree (Prunus dulcis syn. P. amygdalus) of the rose family with flowers and young fruit resembling those of the peach; especially : its ellipsoidal edible kernel used as a nut
