Storm songs?

Got another one for ya:

November Rain by GnR

I think we might be forgetting the best Bob Dylan storm song, A Hard Rains-A Gonna Fall

What’s the music piece played in the classic Disney “Mickey conducting the orchestra in a tornado” short?

“Don’t Rain on My Parade” by Babs herself

Is Anybody There by John Hiatt:

“I see a road and a flash of lightning
Let me tell you it’s frightening”

99 Miles from LA

The windshield is covered with rain, I’m crying

“Where Would I Be?” by Cake has stormy lyrics/feel:

I’ve been waiting for so long
I’ve been hoping your love’s not gone
Houses are sliding in the mud
Rivers are raging in your blood

Where would I be without your love?
Where would I be without your arms around me?

You were to be the only one
If I knew you I would not run
You have been cloudy, distant, dark
I’m thinking of Noah and the ark

Where would I be without your love?
Where would I be without your arms around me

“Raindrops Keep Fallin’ on My Head” - B.J. Thomas
“Night Moves” - Bob Seger and The Silver Bullet Band (Woke last night to the sound of thunder/How far off I sat in wonder)

‘Loving a Hurricane’ - John Hiatt

‘Willow’ - Joan Armatrading (‘Shelter form a storm…’)

MiM

Digging through my work computer I’ve come up with perhaps one of the strangest playlist you’ve seen; every different type of genre, some are a stretch and some are perfect.

AC/DC - Thunder Struck
Arrested Development - Raining Revolution
At The Drive-In - Quarantined
Brother Ali - Rain Water
Carl Thomas - Summer Rain
Decemberist - The Mariner’s Revenge Song
Disney’s Bambi - April Showers
Dr. Octagon - A Gorilla Driving a Pick-up Truck
Gilligan’s Island - Theme
Gnarls Barkley - Storm Coming
Huge Spacebird - Clouds
Jimi Hendrix - In From the Storm
K-OS - The Rain
Kingston Trio - Early Morning Rain
Mason Jennings - Stormy Weather; Summer Dress
Old 97’s - Blinding Sheets of Rain; Won’t Be Home
Oran “Juice” Jones - Walking In the Rain
Paul McCartney - Uncle Albert & Admiral Halsey
Sage Francis - Black Out On White Night; Water Line
SoundGarden - Blackhole Sun
Tay Zonday - Chocolate Rain
White Stripes - Cold Cold Night

Down in the Flood - Dylan
Hard Rain is Gonna Fall - Dylan
Lookout Cleveland - the Band
Passing the Time - Cream

and, similar to Beethoven’s Pastoral Symphony, Mike Oldfield’s Hergest Ridge has a great guitar freakout representing a thunderstorm. Side 2, not far from the end.

April Showers - Mel Torme

April Showers - Al Jolson

I don’t recall - has anyone suggested “It’s Raining Men” yet?

You cannot leave out Lone Justice’s Dixie Storms, with Maria McKee’s beautiful voice over a simple piano accompaniment.

Another thought, but I don’t know if it really fits your theme: Woody Guthries’s song “The Great Dust Storm (Dust Storm Disaster)” - the Grapes of Wrath in song.

I’m fixing a hole where the rain gets in
And stops my mind from wandering
Where it will go

Since the notion of “Rain = Storm” has been introduced, the rain song I’ve been a fan of since it came out is Buddy Holly’s Raining In My Heart.

“Soon It’s Gonna Rain” from The Fantasticks

For Hiatt I’d recommend “Feels Like Rain” but can’t find any sound files.

There’s also Velvet Underground “Hey Mr. Rain.”

Hope I am not too late, but Looks like rain by the Dead.
