Why is the board now designed to show a blank response box at the bottom of the page everytime I open a window to post a new thread? I believe it shows up after I submit a question - after the screen “returns” you to your posting.

I am responding to my own question in this senseless “Your Reply” box. That is all…
The Straight Dope has architecture?
That’s just the quick reply box; it’s at the bottom of every thread. Just doesn’t have the cool formatting, like colors, url, bolding, etc.
dantheman: You can do it manually, however. The big box has buttons that launch Javascript popups that do the actual coding for you, but it all comes down to vB code, which you can always enter manually into the box.
Neo-classical, post-modernist
Well, sure. You can either use the Quick Reply box (labeled “Your Reply”), click the “Post Reply” button, or click the “quote” button. All will allow you to post. The latter two choices will bring up the window with all of the formatting options; with the first choice (as you said), one has to enter the coding manually (which is what I do nearly all of the time).
Hey Jinx, are you really just noticing that box now, or are you just getting around to asking about it now? It’s been there for some weeks.
