"Strange Dreams" That Turn Out To Be True - Would You Lend Me An Ear And Believe Everything I Say?

I don’t buy it. Sure, that’s a very common trope. But it is stupid and lazy and masochistic writing. It particularly annoys me in the Final Destination movies. If Death is supreme and inevitable and a stalker, what’s the point of the vision that warns you if you only get a temporary reprieve, or at best, a slightly longer reprieve filled with constantly being paranoid? If there was such a thing as prognostication, then it would also be useful.

Perhaps, but that notion is a thread killer. More interesting to treat it as a hypothetical.

Sadness that Michael Bay is still making movies.

The Eleanor Williams thing doesn’t mean much. The mere fact that you looked her up on Facebook imposed a selection process that increased the odds you would find someone compatible. The name also imposes a selection–frankly, you dreamed someone white, not a woman from China or India or some other place that might decrease the odds. Also, the reality is that most people have some basic compatibility. Coming into a relationship expecting that it’ll work is itself a boon.

The lottery thing is more compelling, but someone’s got to win, and everyone is going to have some story about how they picked the numbers. Why is the fact that you dreamed the numbers more compelling than someone than someone who just picked them out of thin air?

You’d only be crazy for believing these things actually have meaning. I certainly wouldn’t take heed of your warnings.

FOOL! Don’t try to prevent it! Haven’t you ever read any Greek myths? Come on, man, this is clearly a self-fulfilling prophecy. If you try to stop it you’ll only make it happen!

I received this message while driving in my car; it seemed to come out of thin air.
I remember a deep voice saying quite clearly, “Past performance is no guarantee of future results”
