Some people hire more than the bare minimum.
The movie Primer is annoying and dumb. If someone says they liked it, I am immediately suspicious.
Did you think I was referring to painting? Primer is very useful in painting. A prejudice against that would indeed be irrational.
When is some all? Whatever makes you feel better about going to an inferior school. I’m done with the crybaby antics of a lot of members who went to crack head U, i.e. community college.
I didn’t know what the heck you were referring to. I wasn’t aware of the existence of a movie called Primer.
I never said all members of community college faculties were PhDs. That’s your bugaboo.

Hey everybody, I have a master’s degree. I feel a prejudice toward everyone who doesn’t have a master’s degree because it’s fun to feel superior to other people.
That’s right, Trubie, I’m talking to you. Awww shit, how does your precious little bachelor’s degree look now?

Well, I’m fine with you feeling this way. However, I’m sure others will bitch fit. I’m also younger than you. So, maybe one day I’ll have a PhD. ![]()
I find that really unlikely.
I enjoy proving people wrong.
Well, since you’re probably going to be banned from this message board by the time you can find some third-tier university to accept you into a grad program, you’ll have to send me an email to let me know when it happens.
Banned for what? Stating my opinions?
Yeah, when I was young I was sure I’d have a PhD and tenure before I turned 30.
I’m not a mod. I’ve just been around long enough to recognize the signs of someone who will not long be with us.
I’ll stay forever. ![]()
I had the same thought as you but I don’t know if it’ll happen quickly. Ivan Astikov took more than 2 years to get banned and Jacquelope is still here. The mods err on the side of not banning, even when it’s clear someone is dragging the board down. It’s a reasonable position to take even if, personally, I’d be quicker on the trigger.
Are you referring to me? How exactly am I bringing the board down? By not blindly agreeing?
Lawyers. I have had pretty bad experiences dealing with moronic ones in my childhood, and ever since I could not help but see all of them as clowns. Some of my childhood friends have become lawyers, and I always joke that I like them in spite of what they do. When people try to set me up with guys that are lawyers, I am outta there:
“Hey lshaw, meet xyz. He’s a lawyer.”
“Really? Ok, bye!”
Yes, I am.
Not blindly agreeing is not a prolem at all. This board is full of disagreement and that’s widely accepted by the vast majority.
The problem is your attitude. You express your views in a way that’s very insulting (not a “real school”, not a “lady”). When people disagree with you, you fall back on “I’m entitled to my opinion”. You keep saying people shouldn’t be bothered by what other people think of them online yet you consider others questionning your views to be a lack of respect and you seem bothered by it. Your method of arguing is more inflammatory than informative or persuasive. That’s why, unless you change your attitude, you won’t have a good time here and will eventually get banned.
I’m not bothered by them not agreeing with me. I just think it’s odd my opinion is always questioned. If I get banned I suppose that’s fine. I am who I am. I’m going to be PC and change my opinions even if they’re disliked.
