I’m going strawberry picking with one of my friends this afternoon, and we want to bake strawberry stuff afterwards. I was thinking making a strawberry tart might be fun, or any other recipes anyone can suggest…

This is very, very good. Use about 2 little grocery store strawberry-basket size worth of strawberries, and about 1 basket size worth of mixed blueberries and blackberries. Substituting raspeberries and/or peaches for the alternate berries works, too.
Cut up the strawberries and peaches (if using). Combine with other berries, some sugar to taste (this will be more if using raspberries). Heat over medium heat until gooey and juicy. Once you get to the juicy stage, they will clearly be floating in juice, not just warm berries.
Purchase an angel food cake. Cut the cake into approximate 1 inch pieces. Use approx. 1/3 of the cake to line a big glass bowl. Layer with 1/2 of fruit mixture. Another layer of angel food cake. Rest of fruit mixture, including all liquid. Cover with remaining angel food cake. Cover with saran wrap, place a plate on top, and weight with a can of food or other heavy item. Refrigerate for several hours or overninght. Remove can and saran wrap. Frost top with whipped cream or cool whip.
Delicious and beautiful.
Also, freeze some of the strawberries to use in smoothies throughout the year.
