Stray cats will not be fed....

A mama with 2 kittens have taken up residence under the front porch. Two years ago, I bade Fluffy farewell after 18 years as her servant and I’ve been suffering some acute kitty withdrawal ever since. However, in addition to having a nasty cat allergy from which I have been free, I am retired and no longer wish to have a pet as this puts a damper on at will travel. I must be strong!!! I keep wandering to the front door to look out the screen and admire them. When I speak, they dash back under the porch. Mama must belong to someone, as she wears a flea collar and seemingly goes home to eat once in a while. I will not feed them! I will not pet them! I will not name them! HELP!

You’re doomed.

Stay strong! The best cats are someone else’s.

what runner pat said. welcome your new feline overlords. it’s just… better if you do.

Try to keep your distance from them.

What are their names? <snerk>

Yanno, when you get two new cats, you have to post pix, even if you haven’t named them yet.

twicks, who considers cats’ ability to fend for themselves for a week or more with a visit or two from a neighbor one of the many things that make cats infinitely superior to dogs.

I think cats have a secret signaling system, like it’s said hobos did. They can make a little mark somewhere at the edge of your property that means “Vacancy under porch” or “will eventually get a meal”

Onnelisat kissat.

The Mr. T & I are allergic to cats and don’t own one. (Ooops, meant to say we are not owned by one.) One night, an adorable kitten showed up on the front porch, meowing to be fed. Long story short, with the help of a local TNR* group, he was placed with a local rescue group for adoption.

By that time, however, word got out and another adorable young cat showed up, meowing to be fed. The TNR group got him vax’d and neutered. By the time he was returned to he neighborhood, another cat, a big bruiser of a tom cat, started showing up, demanding to be fed.

The TNR group assisted with vaxxing, neutering and returning him. He is still hanging around, having adopted our front porch as his base of operations. Now, two more cats, little gray females, lurk in the bushes, scarfing up Bruiser’s leftovers when his back is turned.

Consider my tale a warning.

So…what have you named them?
